Chapter 158
Love
I heard distant voices in my mind. My eyes were heavy, so heavy. I had a headache. I felt dizzy and weak I grunted in pain. My body was in so much physical pain. My eyes flickered open when I felt a tug in my hair. The first thing I saw was a woman with red hair. She was lovely with high cheekbones and brown eyes. She had thin lips. She didn’t smell like a shifter. She was a dark witch!
She was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching me like a freak. I tried to speak, but I couldn’t. There was duct tape over my mouth. My head turned to examine the room I was in. It was a shabby shack with a rudimentary design. It looked like an old garage with a lot of equipment in it. Just by the entrance was a vast brown rogue. One of its ears was cut, and it had a long scar across its face. It was glaring at me.
My mind was still disoriented at that point. However, the memories came rushing down on me: the accident, my daughter, my Lara.
Tears filled my eyes at the thought of something happening to her. Was she alright? The crash was horrible. The car overturned over and over again. It broke in half, and the back part fell into the river. I managed to get out. I was about to dive in when the wolf caught me. He threw me against the ground, and I hit my head. Everything went dark.
My baby was in the back of the car, in the water!
“I’ll remove the duct tape, but don’t scream,” she said softly. She gripped one end of the tape and ripped it off. I yelped at the stinging sensations around my lips.
My daughter, where is she?” I growled.
She looked over at the rogue and frowned.
“I asked him to get her out, but someone did that to him. He’s lucky he got away with his life,” she shrugged. The air left my lungs, and my chest constricted. They left my baby in the water. What if no one found her? I was crying. There was rage coursing through me. I wanted to rip this bitch apart. If my hands were not tied together, she’d be
dead.
The woman watched me,
“I’ll kill you for what you did,” I promised.
“No. You won’t. Maybe on another day you can, but not today or tomorrow,” she smiled. Her smile was sick and evil. What did she mean by that? I was in thought. She continued,
“I trapped your lycan in the beyond. In the bad part, she’s fighting spirits that won’t let her leave. So, she’s not coming,” she whispered the last part. Her face was satisfied. A terrible feeling washed over me. Vee was trapped in the beyond. I should have known she would never leave me willingly.
“You psycho!” I tried to lunge, at her but didn’t get far as my hands and legs were tied. Anger poured inside me.
“What do you want? Are you my stalker?!”
Her lips formed a thin line.
“Stalker. He stalks you. That bastard.” she scowled. Her fist balled up as though she wanted to punch me.
“He likes you,” she murmured, pain briefly crossing her features. She shrugged.
“Oh well, it’s good, you’re going to die then,” she said so casually. I felt fear come over me. Not for my life. I feared 1 wouldn’t see my children, Ellis, and family. They would be mad with grief. I couldn’t let this crazy psycho
kill me.
Why? I don’t even know you.”
“I know you. I don’t like you.”
“You kill people simply because you don’t like them?”
“When they stand in my way, yes,” she answered.
“How do I stand in your way?”
Maleck, he grew fond of you. He wants you.”
I was stunned. Maleck? Ellis’ cousin. Of course, that bastard. He was my stalker this whole time! He wanted me to
hurt Ellis.
“Did he send you to get me?”
