Chapter 168
My heart sped up quickly as I realized it was Ellis’ lycan that barreled into Maleck. I felt relief throughout, myself. He found me. His eyes roamed over me. I saw anger in his gaze-anger I’d never seen before. He was scary and bigger than ever. His aura dominates the place. I could read his emotions as he wasn’t guarding them. He was furious, hurt, and scared-scared of losing me. What could have happened had he come a minute late?
He snapped his gaze at Maleck. He shifted too, though. Maleck’s lycan was leaner and shorter than Ellis’s.
My mate’s growl showed he was ready to murder. It sent chills down my bones.
The other rogue wolves surrounding us didn’t know what to do. They watched with fear as Ellis growled and snarled at their alpha. Maleck let out a vicious growl.
Ellis attacked his cousin furiously. He was biting him down. Even though Maleck was doing his best to fight his cousin, the difference in strength was apparent. The fight was outstanding. It was fast and enraging. Ellis clawed at his cousin, and he did the same. Maleck managed to bite Ellis but was quickly shoved into a tree. He pounced on him, ready to finish Maleck, but my mate froze. His gaze flickered at me. I realized Maleck’s mind was linked to him. Alpha blood in the same family could mind-link each other even if they didn’t belong in the same pack. Whatever Maleck said made Ellis retreat from him slowly.
The rogues surrounding me suddenly got interested in me. Oh, no. I couldn’t defend myself.
Ellis scrutinized every one of them. Despite being in his lycan form, I could tell Maleck considered this a win. Ellis was helpless. He threatened to have me killed if he fought back.
“Watch out!” I let out a yelp when Maleck suddenly attacked Ellis. However, Ellis didn’t fight back despite the relentless attack from his enemy. Maleck’s lycan was snipping at him. Tears poured from my eyes.
“Ellis, do something!” I cried, but he let Maleck have his way. I tried to move and get to my feet, but the pain in my ankles sent me back to the ground. Ellis’ fur was covered in blood. I could see through it.
“Ellis, please, please, fight back,” I begged.
My mate didn’t care if he would die. He would at this point. They rolled over, and he pinned him down to the ground. He was ready to bite into his neck, but suddenly, Ellis shrugged him off. I let out a sob of relief.
One of the rogues from my left side charged towards me. I accepted fate. At least I saw my mate one last time. My regret was not seeing my little monsters.
I could only hope I would be in heaven to be reunited with them. However, a flash of sandy fur intercepted the attack before reaching me. The rogue was on the ground. I was pinned to the ground by the beautiful sandy lycan.
Crack. The new lycan wasted no time breaking its neck.
Ellis came with his team! He must have left them before, as he panicked about reaching me.
Zey,’ Vee breathed in her weak state.
One by one, more lycans of our lycans appeared from the forest. They were fighting the Maleck’s rogues. With the surrounding fight, I dragged myself to the nearest tree to avoid getting crashed. I leaned my back against a large tree. My eyes were opening and closing. The growls and groans around me were distant.
Ellis’ pov
I was angry. I’d never felt like this before in my life. After I received confirmation of my mate’s location, I left everyone and ran towards Maleck’s pack. It wasn’t a large pack. Their territory was small and didn’t have many
homes. I went to the packhouse. My mate was lying on the ground, with many wolves surrounding her clear she was weak. I let out a growl and tackled Maleck, stapling him to the ground. My gaze stapped! ove. My stomach sank when I took in her appearance. She was in a fight. She was tortured, covered in i had injuries all over her body. Her one eye was swollen and almost closing, I wanted to go to her, kneeli her, and beg for forgiveness for not protecting her.
Lias and I wanted blood. I wanted the blood of Maleck. He shifted into his shape and lunged at me. I tire against the ground with a thud. Maleck. He could hold himself well in a fight, but not against me. I was a fighting to kill.
I was about to go in for the kill when he mindlinked me.
