Aiden POV
With everything going on, I forgot about the rogues in the dungeons. That attack came out of nowhere. If there is one thing I know about a battle attack from rogues, it is that there is one of two reasons why they attack in this way.
One, we have something they want. What that could be, who knows. Usually, it’s something or someone they find valuable for their own scheming.
Or two, they are in an alliance with another entity who is paying them for a job. It’s smoke and mirrors to distract us while the real objective is quietly taken away.
Diego tried to reach Mia while we were distracted by him and his men. In the background, he had other men looking for her. He worked on a rogue mentality. It was a good thing Mia was gone with Luca before they reached the pack.
“Guapo, do you want me to come with you to the dungeons?”
“And get sick from the smell? No. I’ll handle it, Mojito.” I said, wrapping my arms around her. “You take care of my son.”
“You mean sons. Doctor confirmed twins. Again,” Thalia said with a sigh.
I growled playfully in her ear, “You always look sexy, Mojito. But you are even more sexy carrying my pups.”
I kissed her forehead, and then told her I would be back soon. She said she would spend time with Rosario and Teagan.
Once I get to the dungeon, I have the guards lead me to the cell holding the three rogues we captured. When I get there, I bang on the bars.
“Well, don’t you all look cozy?” I said, sarcastically.
“Fuck you!” One of the rogues spat.
“I have a sexy ass mate for that, so I’ll pass,” I said as I sat on the chair that one of the guards brought me.
“We aren’t telling you shit,” another rogue said.
“That’s unfortunate. I don’t want to kill the three of you, but I will. Why did you attack our pack?” I asked but then added, “And think carefully, before you tell me to fuck off. Because the first of you to go against me dies. There are three of you. So, which one of you will be the last one standing?”
My expression was calm, but I know my tone was ice cold. Leon is ready to shift and rip throats, but I’m holding him back. Between the three men, I noticed one was quiet, but his eyes were full of fear.
“What’s in it for us?”
“You get to live,” I said flatly.
“That’s it? We want more.” The rogue said with sarcasm.
“I tell you what, put a wish in one hand and take a shit in the other. You tell me which one fills up faster,” I replied. The guards chuckled, but I continued, “The only deal you get is your life in exchange for information. I will know if you are lying too. Special little gift I get to share with my mate.”
The rogue growled, but I shot up and grabbed his neck through the bars, slamming his head against them. I heard him grunt, but I got in his face.
“My patience is wearing thin. If you want to know whether I live up to my reputation, evade my question one more time and find out. Now talk!” I growled.
“Fuck you!”
I narrowed my eyes and slammed his head again against the bars with my hands still on his throat. As soon as it hit the bars, I dug my claws into his neck and pulled back, ripping his throat out.
His limp body crumpled on the floor, and I looked at the other two while still holding that man’s throat in my hand. “Who’s next?”
This time I entered the cell. Both men stepped back, but the weaker one caved.
“I’ll talk! I’ll talk!” he said with fear in his voice.
“Then talk.”
