Adrian POV
I got out of my car, and Thor went nuts. Just like he did with…her. The scent of honey and bergamot filled my senses. It felt like walking into someone’s house and feeling at home. I am not ready for this. Not so soon. Not when I am just beginning to get over the grief.
Thor isn’t having it, though. He practically drags me to the dining hall and bursts through.
“WELCOME HOME!” Everyone shouted.
But my nose was in the air. I have a second chance mate in this room. I heard her. A familiar voice.
“Mate.”
Sinclair. Is she my second chance, mate? No. No…this can’t happen.
‘Why? She is perfect. Better than our last mate ever was. She is loyal to a fault, too! I want our mate.’
‘Thor, she is Aric’s brother. His father killed…her.’
‘Ronan killed Amber. Fucking say it. Don’t forget he also robbed Sinclair from the cradle!’ Thor said angrily.
She is looking at me in disbelief. I, however, am angry and terrified.
“No,” I said quietly.
Sinclair sucked in a quiet breath. Her eyes dimmed a little. She straightened her shoulders, though, and raised her glass. “Welcome back, Adrian.”
Her voice is steady, but I could see the slight tremble of her other hand. I noticed she swallowed and kept her composure. Meanwhile, everyone around us is looking back and forth between Sinclair and me.
Aiden and Thalia walked up to me. Aiden spoke first. “She’s your mate, Adrian.”
I whipped my head and looked at him. “Don’t say that.”
Thalia narrowed her eyes at me. “Why? She is, and you are standing here like a statue. Go talk to her.”
I couldn’t say anything. I didn’t want to say anything. I turned on my heel and left the dining hall. I ran up the stairs to the beta floor, ran into my room, and buried my head in my hands.
Why? Why am I mated to someone with close relations to Ronan? He tried to kill Sinclair, too. Aric is a good guy, but there is a tie there I can’t get past.
“Um, which room is Sinclair staying in?” I asked.
“She left. Went to Ironclaw for the next couple of days, so you can adjust. Though that’s not what she was thinking,” Aiden said, clearly trying to keep Leon under control.
“What was she thinking?” I asked, almost afraid to hear the answer.
“You really don’t deserve to know, Adrian. I’m fucking disappointed in you. The Willis men have never mistreated a woman, and tonight, you turned your back on your mate. Let that sink in for the night.”
“Aiden, it isn’t that simple,” I began, but he cut me off.
“It is that simple, Adrian. You know the Moon Goddess doesn’t make mistakes. She paired you with Sinclair for a reason. You didn’t just turn your back on Sinclair. You turned your back on the Moon Goddess. You turned your back on what the Willis men stand for. For the memory of a woman who didn’t love or appreciate you. I’m not going to handle you with kid-gloves with this, Adrian. What you did was wrong, and you know it.”
“I’m not ready for another mate, Aiden. The first time fucking broke me.”
“Sinclair was already fragile. You didn’t care about hurting her tonight either. Good night.”
Fuck.

What happened to the storyline? After Chp 100 it is a completely different story! This is terrible!...
So many missing chapters and repetitions. A different story altogether from chapter 101...
