His Plump Mate (Book 1: The 'His' Series) novel Chapter 703

Thalia POV

Aiden and I are once again tag-teaming with the boys. I have never been so exhausted caring for two pups in my life. They have no control over how or when they decide to float. I’m sure it will be a helpful gift in the future, but right now, it’s inconvenient.

Aiden stretched and then scooped me up. “You’re dead on your feet, Mojito. You haven’t been sleeping well.”

“I can’t help it. I’m stressed, overworked, and worried. I know we are prepared, but I can’t help this worrying feeling, Aiden.”

“Thalia,” Aiden said as he laid me on the bed. “We have done everything we can. Between you, Kaia, and Sinclair, we have fortified the pack lands, tightened up security, led the path where everything will be fought, and sent pack members to collaborating packs to minimize casualties. Our pups are going into the safe rooms with the nannies, since Mom and Dad want to fight. Now we wait. They are coming to our door, our stomping ground. We will kick ass, take names, leave no crumbs, and have the most epic story to tell our pups later.”

I gave Aiden a hopeful look. He sat beside me on the bed and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my temple and pushed calm through our bond.

“I love you, Aiden. I love you so much. I love our pups and our life together. I don’t want anything to happen to it."

"Nothing will. Have some faith, Mojito. Moon Goddess gave this to us to handle, because she knows we can.”

I snuggle against Aiden. He continues pushing calm into me, and before I know it, I fall asleep and don’t wake up until late the next morning. When I saw the clock, it was already ten in the morning. I never sleep that late.

I got up and immediately got ready for my day. When I came out of the shower, Aiden was there with breakfast on a tray. I smiled as he put it down on the bed. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him.

“I’m so lucky to have a mate like you,” I said.

Aiden grinned. “You were sleeping soundly. I felt when you got up, so I decided to bring you some breakfast.”

“Thank you, guapo.”

I sat and ate. Nyx was anxious, though.

‘What’s happening?’ I asked.

‘Those bastards are coming, Thalia. I want to tear them apart. They are on their way.’

I looked at Aiden. The look on his face told me he heard Nyx. He knows.

“Finish eating, Mojito. We need to get going.”
