His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 110

Conrad’s face went deathly pale with anger. A storm gathered in his eyes, and his nostrils flared. “Be reasonable, Annika!”

She wasn’t being reasonable? She had been too reasonable, and that was why he could bully her like this.

Annika laughed, a wild, shaking laugh that racked her body. Then, she stopped, her gaze on Conrad turning completely alien. She shoved him away and bolted for the door.

Seeing this, Conrad lunged after her, grabbing her arm, but she wrenched it free with all her might. When his hand closed around her again, she bit down on the thick muscle of his forearm, using every ounce of strength she had until her teeth ached.

The pain made stars dance in Conrad’s vision, and he was forced to let her go.

Free, Annika ran without a backward glance. Conrad chased after her, glanced at the bleeding teeth marks on his wrist, and roared at his bodyguards, “What are you waiting for? Get her back here!”

The bodyguards moved like lightning. In an instant, several dark figures blocked Annika’s path.

She stopped, not even looking at them, and ground out the words, “Get out of my way.”

But the figures remained motionless. Annika’s anger exploded. She began slapping them, one sharp, vicious slap after another that echoed loudly in the quiet night. Her palm turned red, but the bodyguards stood like zombies, unmoving.

Conrad caught up and grabbed her arm. Annika unleashed all her fury on him, slapping his face and kicking his legs, as fierce as an enraged little beast.

Conrad let her hit him, let her vent, his arms wrapping around her waist. Ignoring her punches and kicks, his voice was almost begging, “Are you done? When you’re done, let’s go inside.”
