His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 115

All this time, Conrad hadn’t called Donovan at Tyson Capital to make a move on the Sargent Group. Instead, he was calling to use his father's influence to lock down the city’s hospitals.

“Are you in or not?” Conrad cut him off, in no mood for banter.

“In, of course I’m in,” Donovan quickly agreed. He wouldn't dare refuse.

After hanging up, a thought struck Donovan. Was Annika trying to run away with the baby on the verge of giving birth?

A cold sweat broke out on his brow. The thought that a man as powerful as Conrad could be abandoned by a woman was staggering. He scrambled to call the major hospitals.

Despite the city-wide net Conrad had cast, Annika seemed to have slipped through it.

Justin drove over directly, and Donovan arrived soon after. The two men stood beside Conrad, their faces etched with anxiety.

Justin was the first to report. “Conrad, we have men at the airport, high-speed rail, train stations, and all major exits. There’s no sign of Annika.”

Donovan immediately followed up, just as stressed. “I’ve had every hospital checked. There’s no trace of her there either.”

An idea occurred to Justin. “Could she be using a fake ID?”

Conrad replayed the surveillance footage from before she left. Analyzing the conversation between Annika and Lana after the fall, he deduced that her decision to flee was impulsive. Otherwise, Lana wouldn’t have hesitated to call Tyler.

A cold, dark shadow fell over Conrad’s eyes. He stood under the streetlight, his expression frigid and unreadable, the chill emanating from him seeming to seep from his very bones.
