His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 156

When Annika heard Monroe had cried himself hoarse, panic tightened her throat and her words came out choppy. “Is… is his fever back? You… have Beth walk him around a bit.”

“Annika, what’s wrong?” Tyler’s drunken voice slurred through the phone, mixing with Annika’s anxious tone. She was in the middle of saying, “I’m coming over right now, just wait for—” before Conrad abruptly ended the call. A cold smile touched his lips as he immediately dialed Justin’s number.

When Justin answered, he sounded like he’d been pulled from a deep sleep, his voice lazy and rough. “Conrad? What’s up?”

“Celestial Club,” Conrad said. “See you in twenty.” He hung up before Justin could even react, leaving only the dial tone.

Justin rubbed his eyes and glanced at his watch—two in the morning. He muttered under his breath as he reached for his clothes, but a pair of soft, delicate hands wrapped around his waist. A sweet, feminine voice purred, “Going out?”

Justin turned and kissed the woman’s cheek. “Conrad’s calling. I have to go. You go back to sleep.”

When Justin rushed into the private suite, Conrad had already ordered drinks and was halfway through a bottle by himself. The room was dimly lit, the wall-mounted TV muted. He sat alone on the sofa, smoking and drinking, his expression unreadable. “Conrad,” Justin called out as he walked over.

Seeing that Conrad didn't respond, Justin knew he was in a foul mood. He immediately got on the phone and dragged Donovan Tyson out of bed.

When Donovan arrived, he sensed the unusual atmosphere the moment he stepped into the suite. He and Justin exchanged a knowing glance, a silent agreement to not ask questions. Instead, they started queuing up songs on the karaoke machine. Justin suggested they call in some girls, and Conrad didn't object. Soon, a group of hostesses entered for them to choose from. When Justin offered Conrad the first pick, Conrad ignored him. So, Justin chose one for himself and another for Donovan, then gestured for the most innocent-looking girl to sit next to Conrad.
