His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 75

Seeing Annika's silence, Estelle frowned. "You don't believe me?"

Annika simply pointed to the door. "The exit is that way. I won't see you out."

"Annika!" Estelle said, growing desperate. She grabbed Annika's sleeve. "I swear on my life, everything I'm saying is true. I really can't stand Serena."

"I know," Annika said dryly, thinking, “And I believe you about as much as I believe in fairies.”

Estelle's patience wore thin at Annika's coldness. "My dear sister-in-law, I was wrong before. Please, forgive me!"

"Conrad and I are divorced. I'm not your sister-in-law anymore," Annika corrected her. She could do without the title. When she lived at Scent Haven, this 'sister-in-law' had made her life a living hell.

"Fine, then I'll call you Annika. Annika, we can't let my brother carry on like this. We have to do something!"

Estelle's expression was a mask of cute, innocent concern, but Annika knew something wicked was churning behind it. Pushed to her limit, Annika finally said, "Estelle, you don't know your brother at all. The reason he's frequenting those places might be because he's just... blowing off steam."

Blowing off steam? Estelle chewed on the phrase. Suddenly, her eyes lit up with understanding. "You mean... his needs aren't being met?"

Annika simply pursed her lips.

Estelle scratched her head, thought for a moment, and nodded in agreement. "That cripple Serena could never satisfy my brother," she said anxiously. "So what do we do?"

Seeing Estelle squirming like a cat on a hot tin roof, Annika gave a slight smile and shrugged, a gesture of helplessness.

A thought seemed to strike Estelle. "I have to go, I just remembered something," she said, before rushing out of Annika's office.

After finally getting rid of the troublesome Estelle, Annika let out a sigh. She called Harrison to invite him to dinner. The Sargent Group had weathered the storm and was getting back on track, and she owed him her gratitude.

Harrison agreed, setting a time for eight o'clock that evening at the Crown Diner.
