What did that make him in Harrison's eyes?
Annika was determined. “We’ll find the best lawyer and get Harrison out.”
Hank sounded completely dejected. “The best are all with the Beryl Group. I don't think there's anything we can do.”
Just then, his phone rang. He glanced at it and told Annika, “It's the lawyer I called earlier.”
“Go ahead,” she said. “Keep me updated.”
“Will do.”
Hank left, and Annika sank into the sofa, her temples throbbing with dread. She closed her eyes for a moment, and the thought of Yazmin suddenly came to her. She grabbed her keys and headed for the door.
Lana called out from the kitchen, “Annika, dinner's almost ready! Eat first!”
“You go ahead, I'll be back soon,” Annika called back as she jumped into her car and sped away from the villa.
When she arrived at the Beryl Manor, Yazmin was just back from her bridge game, looking sour, likely from losing. But her face lit up at the sight of Annika. “Annika!”
“Yazmin, I need to ask you something.” Annika got straight to the point. “A friend of mine is in some trouble. Could you help me find a good lawyer?”
Yazmin's eyes flickered. “A lawyer, you say?”
