Since their encounter in the university hallway, Eli had not thought much about David. To Eli, that encounter was merely a small accident that had happened in the middle of her busy schedule. Life at Raven University already occupied enough of her attention.

Her mornings were filled with the core classes that were part of her study program. In the afternoons, she sometimes spent time in the library finishing her assignments, while several times a week, she attended singing classes that she had wanted to pursue for a long time.

In that class, Eli stood out quite a bit. Her voice was not only good, but she also had a level of control that made her instructor pay extra attention to her several times. Eli herself had never considered it anything special. In fact, her coach had repeatedly urged Eli to enter contests frequently held by renowned production houses.

Eli still had not thought that far ahead. She turned them down for a fairly reasonable reason. It did not mean she had given up on her dream; she simply had other priorities she wanted to pursue during her first year at Raven University.

She only wanted to keep learning because, to her, having a good voice did not mean she was already good enough to become a singer.

In her other classes, Eli was also among the students who were easy to recognize. She almost always sat in the front, brought more books than she needed, and took notes on almost everything she considered important.

Her appearance was simple, even unremarkable. The glasses that often rested on her nose, her hair sometimes tied up carelessly, comfortable clothes for attending campus activities, and her habit of carrying books made her look more like a bookish girl than someone who would become the center of attention.

Eli did not mind that. She had never tried to attract anyone's attention.

David, on the other hand, saw something different.

A few days after their encounter, David saw Eli again in the library. The girl was sitting alone with several books open in front of her. David stopped for a moment, then smiled faintly. He had already heard about Eli from several other students.

The full-scholarship girl who always got good grades, was intelligent, diligent, but was not particularly outstanding in terms of appearance.

To David, Eli looked like someone who would be interesting to conquer.

She was used to receiving attention from many women. Being the captain of the Raven University basketball team made his name quite well known on campus. However, Eli showed no interest in him whatsoever. Even when they met, the girl would simply be polite and then leave.

That made David curious.
