“Are you sure you’re going back tomorrow morning?” Althea asked in surprise. She was in Eli’s room because Grace had told her that Eli would be returning to the dorm tomorrow morning. Althea had thought Eli would return in the afternoon. The journey to Raven only took an hour, so why did Eli seem to be in such a hurry to leave?

“Grace still wants to spend time with you,” Althea added.

“That’s why we mustn’t delay our trip there.” Althea looked at Eli’s belongings. “I’ve already asked Hans to deliver some food supplies to your dorm. Daven said you look thinner, Eli.”

“I don’t know what else to say for all your kindness, Mrs. Althea.” Eli looked at Althea with tearful eyes. “You really are such a kind-hearted woman.”

“So are you.” Althea gently stroked Eli’s hair. “Study hard and achieve your dreams. We support you.”

Eli hugged Althea tightly. Truly, although their relationship had begun under unfortunate circumstances, Eli had been certain from the beginning that Althea was a kind-hearted woman. And to this day, it had proven true. Eli felt that this house was her family.

“Make sure you keep us updated.”

“You usually work on them at home, right?”

“I know. But there are a few books I need to buy, and I want to finish them on campus.”
