“Okay.”
Eli got out of the car with her small bag. She stood beside the door for a moment, making sure Josh had really finished talking to her.
However, before she could say anything, a car stopped not far from where they were. A man stepped out of it.
Eli, who had initially only glanced over, immediately recognized him. Her face instantly brightened. “David.”
Josh, who was still inside the car, noticed the change.
Just a moment ago, Eli had looked perfectly normal. Even while talking to him, the girl had still complained about having to return to campus. Yet, simply by seeing the man who had just gotten out of the car, Eli’s face immediately looked much brighter.
David walked toward her with a smile. “Have you been waiting long?”
Eli quickly shook her head. “No. I just got here.”
“Good.”
David stood in front of her. Their eyes met, and Eli could not hide the small smile that appeared on her face.
Josh watched everything from inside the car. For some reason, the sight made his jaw tighten slightly. He did not like seeing Eli smile like that at another man.
Especially after the girl had just spent one night at home and now looked so happy simply because the man had come to pick her up.
“Why do you look like that?” Grace’s voice from the back seat made Josh snap back to reality.
He turned around.
Grace was looking at him with a knowing smile.
“What’s wrong with my face?” Josh asked in confusion.
Grace held back a laugh. “I don’t know. But it looks like someone isn’t happy about Eli being picked up.”
Josh immediately looked away toward the front. “I don’t care.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
Grace glanced at Eli, who was now talking to David, then looked back at Josh. “If you don’t care, why have you been watching them this whole time?”
Josh fell silent, which made Grace chuckle softly.
“Forget it. Let’s go home.”
Josh sighed and started the car again. “Yeah. Let’s go home.”
However, before the car moved, his gaze turned toward Eli one last time. The girl was still smiling at David, and they seemed to be talking very comfortably.
