HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 877

A day after Lydia and Naomi's official visit to the university, Lydia accompanied Naomi today to complete her official enrollment. They had already prepared all the required documents beforehand.

That morning, the Miller family mansion was once again bustling with activity. Several servants moved back and forth carrying breakfast trays with practiced precision, while the sound of footsteps echoed through the second-floor corridor that was usually so quiet.

Naomi came downstairs carrying a thick folder containing all of Westbridge University's administrative documents, which she and Lydia had organized together in the living room the night before. Today, they only needed to submit the verified paperwork, sign a few final forms in the registration office, and her enrollment process would officially be complete, a new chapter she had finally decided to begin after a long discussion about her future.

As soon as she entered the dining room, filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and toasted bread, she found Lydia already seated there. As elegant as ever, Lydia was reviewing the document checklist on her tablet with a slight furrow in her brow, making sure not a single detail had been overlooked.

"Good morning."

Lydia looked up from the screen and immediately offered her a gentle, reassuring smile. "Good morning. Have a seat first. Your breakfast is ready."

Naomi did as she was told, pulling out the chair beside her. She had just reached for a cup of hot tea when Lydia reflexively reopened the folder Naomi was carrying, carefully flipping through each page with meticulous attention.

"Birth certificate, latest academic transcript, letter of recommendation, passport. Okay, everything's here."

Naomi couldn't help but chuckle at how meticulous the woman beside her was. "Mrs. Lydia..."

"Hm?" Lydia replied without taking her eyes off the papers in her hands.

"If you keep checking it like this, the folder's going to get bored."

Lydia laughed softly as well, realizing she might have been a little overcautious that morning. "I'm just making sure nothing gets left behind, Naomi. It's your first day. Everything has to be perfect."

"You already checked it three times last night."

That stiff business conversation came to a complete stop when Cale saw Naomi and Lydia watching him from the dining table. The tension on his face immediately melted away. "Morning."

"Good morning," Lydia replied, a different kind of sparkle in her eyes. Naomi returned the greeting with a polite nod.

Not long afterward, the three of them finished breakfast in a far more relaxed atmosphere than they had shared over the past few days, savoring a moment of peace that felt especially precious after a series of exhausting conflicts.

Just before leaving, Cale glanced at the watch on his wrist and let out a short sigh before straightening the buttons of his suit. "I have to go now. The meeting can't be postponed."

"Looks like you're going to be busy?" Lydia asked with a broad smile.

Cale let out another long sigh. "Yeah, I think dealing with this new client is taking up more of my time." He then walked over to his wife, placed a light kiss on her cheek, and added, "But I don't plan on coming home late. How about we have dinner out together?"
