His Ruthless Redemption (Isabella and Dominic) novel Chapter 213

Chapter 213

Chapter 213

Isabella’s POV

The meeting with Alessandro Bianchi dragged on for nearly two hours. It was not because he was difficult. Actually, Alessandro was probably one of the easier donors the museum had worked with recently-wealth passionate about Renaissance preservation, and thankfully more interested in art than politics.

But he talked. A lot.

And by the time Luca and I finally stepped out of the cafe where the meeting had taken place, I felt mental exhausted.

“Well,” Luca said beside me as we crossed the street towards the museum, “if the art world ever collapses. Alessandro can pursue a career in motivational speaking.”

I laughed softly. “He means well.”

“He absolutely does,” Luca agreed. “But I now know his opinion on marble restoration, Florentine architecture, modern dating culture, and apparently organic olive farming.”

“That one surprised me too.”

“He had charts, Isa.”

“He did have charts.”

Luca sighed dramatically. “I deserve financial compensation.”

“You’re literally getting financial compensation. It’s called your salary.”

“Not enough for emotional suffering.”

I smiled despite myself. God. I needed this. Normal conversations. Work. Routine.

Moments where my brain wasn’t spiraling around Alessia and fear and worst-case scenarios.

Though unfortunately, the peace never lasted long these days.
