Chapter 225
Chapter 225
Isabella’s POV
For several long seconds, I could only stare at her.
Vittoria.
I’d imagined it being the Vitellis, or one of Dominic’s enemies, or even some random criminal looking for money. But never in a million years could I have guessed that Vittoria was the one who had gotten me kidnapped.
My brain struggled to catch up. Nothing made sense.
Why was she here? Why had she kidnapped me? What did she want?
“What the fuck?” I repeated. The words sounded weak compared to the storm raging inside my head.
To my surprise, Vittoria actually smiled but it was cold, the kind that made my skin crawl.
“Yes,” she said. “What the fuck indeed.”
I frowned. “What are you talking about?”
Her expression hardened instantly. “What did you think would happen, Isabella?”
I blinked. “What?”
“You thought you could fool Dominic into believing you’re carrying his child.”
The room seemed to tilt slightly as I stared at her, completely/lost. “What?”
She stepped closer. “You thought you could get him to break off his wedding.” Every word sounded more absurd than the last.
mind?”
lost your I genuinely couldn’t process them. “What are you talking about?” My voice rose. “Have you “Don’t play coy.” Vittoria’s tone sharpened. “You know exactly what I’m talking about.” No. I really didn’t. And the fact that she seemed so convinced I did was somehow even more alarming “You may be able to fool Dominic with your innocent little act,” she continued. “But you’re not fooling me.” Still nothing made sense. That was until she said her next words. “Or Alessia.”
The moment Alessia’s name left her mouth, everything clicked.
Not perfectly or completely. But enough. Enough to understand. Enough to see the shape of what had happened
A bitter laugh almost escaped me..
Of course.
Of course, Alessia was involved.

The sheer comiction in her voice almost made me laugh. Almou. Poor woman. We grounely believed that. She genuinely believed this had been her own ide
Meanwhile Alessia was probably sitting, comfortably womewhere with perfectly manicured nate and clean hands, watching everyone else do her dirty work.
God, what a master manipulator.
A disturbing thought followed immediately
How many times had she done this to Dominic? How many times had the nudged situations in certain directions while making him think everything had been his decision?
The thought made my stomach turn.
Vittoria continued speaking, oblivious to my inner turmoil. “Unlike you, I have my own brain”
The irony of that statement was so thick I could practically choke on it. But I didn’t bother pointing it out. She clearly wasn’t ready to hear it
Instead, she lifted her chin proudly. “I’m doing what’s best for the family”
The words made me roll my eyes. Which was a big mistake.
Because Vittoria noticed immediately. “What?”
I laughed, a short, disbelieving sound escaping me. “You’re kidnapping pregnant woman.” I gestured around the room. “And somehow you’ve convinced yourself you’re the hero”
Her expression hardened. “You never belonged in this family”
So this was the real issue. Not the baby. But me.
“A nobody like you never deserved a place beside Dominic. Her voice dripped with contempt. “The only woman worthy of standing beside him is Alessia”
I nearly groaned. Of course, she thought that. She had never really liked me, but I didn’t realise how much until now
“She was born for this life” Vittoria was pacing now, growing more passionate with every word “She understands power Responsibility. Legacy. And when Dominic marries Alessia, the Russo and Moretti families become unstoppable,”
I stared at her. The woman sounded like she was pitching a corporate inenger, not a marriage
“And what do you bring?” she demanded. “What exactly do you Comtribute?

Her eyes swept ove me, judging me
“Nothing The word echoed sharply “That’s what”
I opened my mouth but she didn’t let me speak
“All you’ve ever done is trap him
My temper finally sparked. “Excuse me?
“First yourself” She pointed towards my stomach. “And now this”
My hand instinctively moved protectively over my abdomen.
“You’re using that baby to keep him trapped,” she stated.
My anger flared instantly, hot, sharp and protective. “That baby is Dominic’s
She laughed, a cruel sound. “Is it?”
The implication of her words made my blood boil
“If you’re so concerned about it, get a DNA test”
The confidence in my voice seemed to surprise her.
She hesitated for a second but then shook her head. “I don’t care who the baby belongs to
Interesting, Very interesting. Because if this was truly about Dominic being tricked, that answer made no sense. She wasn’t interested in the truth, only the outcomes,
“Then what do you care about?” I asked.
Her eyes narrowed, “Dominic is supposed to marry Alessia/And you’re in the way.”
The room fell silent. I looked at her, really looked at her. And finally understood.
That this wasn’t about family. Or power. Or responsibility.
This was obsession.
“What do you want from me?” The question came out quiet, careful
Vittoria smiled. And suddenly I wished she hadn’t. “I want you to disappear”
A chill slid down my spine at her words.
She waved a dismissive hand. “Take your children. Go somewhere far away. And never come back”
The coum seemed colder suddenly.
“And if I don’t?”
The simte vanished immediately.

verything inside me stopped.
The baby. Mateo.
My children. My babies.
Something primal exploded inside my chest, my entire being filling with white-hot rage.
“How dare you.” The words came out shaking, furious. “How dare you
threaten my children?”
Vittoria didn’t even flinch, which somehow made me angrier.
“You think you’re protecting your family?” I laughed, the sound harsh.
“You’re not,” I pointed directly at her. “You’re just a pathetic woman being manipulated by Alessia. And you’re too stupid to even realize it.”
The slap came so fast I never saw it coming.
Crack.
Pain exploded across my face as my head snapped sideways. The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth instantly.
For one stunned second, the room went silent.
Then fury returned tenfold.
I touched my lip and saw blood.
Then, I lunged toward her.
But before I could reach her, someone grabbed my wrist hard.
