JASMINE’S POV
"How about we have dinner at my place tomorrow night, then?" I asked Louis.
"You’re offering to make dinner?" he asked.
"As a small thanks to you for everything you’ve helped my son and me with. I know dinner isn’t much, but it’s a start," I asked him.
"I would love to," he agreed
"You’re going to make cherry pie again?" Tony asked me excitedly.
"Sure," I agreed.
"Oh, so I’ll finally get to taste these desserts of yours that are apparently so good?" Louis joined in.
I smiled at him. "I hope you’ll like them."
*******
Later that night Louis had us prepare our things in our rooms to be packed away for tomorrow. When I finally retired for the night I took out my laptop and went ahead and filed for a contested divorce on the family court website. With no update from Keith who kept insisting ’he didn’t agree’ with the terms, I decided it was time to go ahead with this.
I had to protect Tony and me from Diana’s future schemes. Separating from Keith was the quickest way. Knowing that she had possibly paid doctors to kill me made me realise I had underestimated just how unhinged she was.
Once I was done, I lay back on my bed looking at the ceiling. How and when had Diana poisoned me? I asked myself. That email was still stuck in my mind. In the hospital I knew it was the doctors giving me the poison but before I checked in how had she poisoned me?
I pondered my memories trying to figure it out.
After my divorce from Keith, I never saw either of them again. Despite my efforts to get his attention. He always ignored me. The entire time I went to sue in court I was dealing with his lawyers and other representatives. Is that how she did it?
I searched up the Dicotone poison the doctor had mentioned in the email. It was a chemical mostly found in pesticides.

At work the next day I was tasked with helping Louis revise all the files and documents about the Gatwick case. All the paperwork about Gatwicks misconduct at the company was done all that remained now was to file it.
As I went through the documents I noticed the payments and budget recorded were aligning. The payments made to victims far exceeded the budget allocated. I recalled Louis had told me that his family had refused to give him more money for paying out to the victims. And yet, the money the victims had received exceeded the budget. Where had the excess funds come from?
That evening after work I went straight to the new apartment. Louis had something to finish off but he had to finish but said he would arrive in time for dinner as well as to make sure I was well settled into the place.
Upon arriving at the apartment I found Tony had also arrived. We greeted each other from outside the apartment buildings.
Upon entering our new apartment I found all of my and Tony’s belongings organized neatly in the foyer and living room in the boxes they had been packed in. I wondered when I would get time to organize everything.
Tony had homework to do so I told him to get the things he needed most and take them to his room. He wouldn’t have time to organize it all right now.
I went to the kitchen and started on dinner. I’d had some groceries delivered to the apartment so I could start cooking with no issues.
Louis arrived when the food was around halfway cooked. He had changed out of his suit and wore a more casual outfit of jeans, a shirt, and a jacket.
In his arms, he held a bouquet and a bottle of champagne.
