"You’re such a kind person, Louis," I told him, squeezing his shoulder.
We returned to the kitchen that was a mess."Anyway, I have to take care of the dishes and the kitchen."
"I’ll help," Louis offered.
He then awkwardly stood in the middle of the kitchen as if unsure what to do next.
"Do you know how to clean?" I asked him mockingly. Did a wealthy man like him know how to clean himself? I asked myself.
His eyes narrowed at me. "I’m not helpless, Jasmine," he told me. "I was just thinking of where we should start from.
"Oh really?" I asked him and chuckled.
"We can start by clearing up the dishes," I suggested.
We then cleared up all the dirty dishes from the dining table and the kitchen, and then put them all in the dishwasher, before starting it. We then clean the surfaces of the kitchen together. I looked up at Louis, from where he stood next to me. He did actually know how to clean. He’d done a great job so far, I thought to myself as I sprayed the foam on the counter so we could wipe it.
However, as I sprayed, some of it flew up and landed on Louis’ shirt.
"Oh sorry," I apologized.
"You did that purpose," he told me.
"I did not," I said to him.
He grabbed some of the foam on his hand and aimed to get back at me. As his arm reached out to touch me, I dodged his hand and moved away from him.
"Come here," he said to me playfully. I ran around the kitchen counter. He followed after me.
"Louis stop!" I screamed and laughed. "The floor will get dirty if the foam gets everywhere."
"Then it will be easier if you stay still," he said determined to get back at me.
I rounded the corner of the kitchen counter once more and was about to run away. Just when I thought I’d successfully escaped, I suddenly felt arms wrap around me from behind.
"Got you," he said.
"Louis, let me go," I laughed out. He then dragged me back to where we’d come from. I struggled in his grasp as I continued giggling.
He then hoisted me up onto the counter. He stood in front of with an ’angry’ expression. He parted my legs and stood in between them. I felt heat course through my cheeks as his gaze on me intensified. Those golden predator-like eyes were becoming a weakness for me. My arms went around his neck.
Why do I feel so comfortable with you? I asked myself. Just like that time in the gym, I found myself doing things I didn’t understand. I was acting weird around him lately. I would lose all common sense and give in to my desires.
"You got some soap on your chin," he said, and then rubbed it off with his free hand.
"Thanks. Where else?" I asked as my eyes softened and they looked into his.
He brought his hand to my face cupping my cheek. His thumb went to my lip and began tracing its curvature.
"Here as well," he said.
"You should remove it then," I said in a small voice. There wasn’t any foam on my lips but I played into his obvious joke.
