Chapter 119: Does he even think about me?

CURRENTLY BEING EDITED

I looked around trying to find something.

Luckily, a professor is walking in this direction. Thank goodness. If I could get his attention then I could get Zeke and his dumb friends to stop.

"Professor!" I called him.

His head perked up when I called to him and he came my way.

"Shoot a teacher’s coming," I then heard one of the boys yell. They stopped picking on the boy and immediately scurried away like cockroaches.

"Yes, how may I help you?" the professor asked once he reached me. I looked at him and asked a random question and he answered before leaving me. I then turned to look at the boy who sat in the dusting himself off. I then went towards him.

"You okay?" I asked him.

He looked up at me surprised to see me but took my hand.

"Hey, what’s your name?" I asked him once he was upright. I recognized the boy we were in the same grade but in different classes.

"Albert," he said.

"I’m Anth—" I was about to introduce myself. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"I know who you are everyone knows who you are," he interrupted me. "I think everyone in our grade knows about you and your mother. Sorry about that."

"Its okay," I responded to him. "So you know why those guys pick on me but what about you?" I asked him.

"They bully me coz I’m fat," he said. "And my family isn’t as rich as everyone else’s."

When he said that its only then that I noticed he was a bit chubby. I then rolled my eyes at that. "Those idiots will find any reason to bully anyone."

"Yeah," Albert nodded. "Hey, isn’t that your brother?" he said looking at the school yard ahead. I followed his gaze and found Marco staring at me. In his arms was a pile of books. Once I made eye contact Marco grew shy and immediately walked away.

"Yeah, it is," I replied to Albert.

Marco was in the grade above me since he was a year older. We rarely ran into each other or spoke to each other. Albert and I watched him walk away. I didn’t know what to think of Marco since I didn’t know much about him but what I could say was that I was jealous of him. He was the one Dad chose, he was the one Dad loved.

I internally laughed as I watched Zeke and his friends panic everyday searching for their missing books as they wondered what was happening.

"You four boys this is the third time something has mysteriously happened to your book and you never know what has happened to them. I don’t know what game you boys are playing but it’s not funny. I’m sorry have to call your parents now and send you to the principal’s office," the professor told him

The class began to snicker at Zeke and he looked around embarrassed.

I was literally fighting not to laugh with them. My plan had worked. Now Zeke knew how I felt all those times he embarrassed me in front of others.

Now with all the detentions they’ve been getting still can’t make fun of me can you!? After that Zeke and his crew stopped their bullying. They were too busy trying not to get suspended. Serves you right! I found myself smiling proud of myself. They also became the topic of discussion among everyone in our grade because they were getting so many detentions. Meaning the spotlight was away from me for once.

School got better for me after that. Whenever anyone tried to insult my mother I would make sure was happy that I had gotten my hands on their books to make sure they got in trouble.

Things were also looking up at home. I was getting to spend more and more time with mum whom was now more focused on me. The only thing I was missing was my dad...But I was really happy with how things were. He had come to our home twice to speak to Mum. Each time he would only briefly look at me.

I was angry with Dad for what he did to Mum and I but for some reason I also wanted his attention. I wondered did he think about me? Did he even remember me? Or was he only focused on Marco? I thought of all the times we spent together. I don’t think they meant anything to him.
