Chapter 129: It feels too good to be true

LOUIS’ POV

Monday morning I woke up early as usual workout in my gym, showered, dressed up, ate breakfast, and prepared my things for work.

When the time came to leave I went to the foyer and was met Jasmine who was waiting for me. She was dressed in a finely fitting feminine suit, her tied up in a neat bun and classy jewelry usual to compile, ent the look. Beautiful and stylish as usual. I had ended up convincing her stay until Monday rather than leaving on Monday. I had missed our little ritual of meeting in the foyer every morning.

Tony had already gone to school.

"Good morning," I greeted her.

"Good morning," she greeted back with a wide smile.

Jasmine and I were officially dating. A part of me was over the moon, ecstatic even that I was actually dating my long-time crush. And another part of me was a little nervous. It felt too good to be true.

A part of me felt like this was the calm before the storm like I wouldn’t get to be happy for long. I wasn’t trying to be negative or anything. Just taking in the signs leading me to this conclusion. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Would you look at that your tie isn’t properly done yet again." she said bringing me out of my thoughts as she looked at my tie.

"I’m starting to feel like you do this on purpose," she commented she got closer to me and began adjusting it.

I looked down at her and grinned. I was not sorry at all.

A look of realisation then appeared in her eyes. She agressively adjusted the tie till it was tight around my throat. "I should choke you for that," she commented. "Well see how much you enjoy me adjusting your tie then."

"Mmhmm, I’m not into choking, but if you are we can work something out," I said.

Her eyes glared at me in annoyance. "Are you ever serious?" she asked me.

"Sometimes," I answered. "Come here," I then said as I pulled her in and kissed her.

I had an insatiable desire for her lips. Once I started I didn’t want to stop. As the seconds ticked by I had us continue kidding.

She then broke from the kiss and looked up at me.

"We’re going to be late," she breathed out. Then immediately her eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh my god, my lipstick is all over your mouth," she said as she then brought her fingers to my lips to wipe them off.

"Your lips are a mess too," I pointed out to her. "Don’t you have those lipsticks that stay on no matter what?"

The first reason I felt my relationship with Jasmine was too good to be true was because of my family. This was the third e-mail now that they had sent me. The Carrington HQ rarely ever contacted me for anything and yet this was the third time they’d sent me an email asking about Jasmine. The first time was last week, then when I was at the museum with Jasmine and Tony, and now this. This couldn’t be a good sign.

I hadn’t done anything wrong, working with Jasmine shouldn’t be a problem but considering they were asking about Jasmine in such a manner it was clear my family had some issue. I didn’t want to know. I wanted to ignore the email as I had the others.

However, I couldn’t avoid the them for long could I? I had to give them something. I sent a reply that Jasmine was working as my personal assistant. Hoping that was going to be the end of it. I’d have to see what came of it.

Later in the afternoon one of my bodyguards came to my office.

"Sir, these are the documents you requested on Diana Rockford," the bodyguard informed me as he placed them on the desk.

"Oh Good," I said as I picked them up. "Ill have a look at these."

The bodyguard then left my office.

I looked through documents there were two copies; one for Jasmine, and one for me. I had told Jasmine I would gather all the information on Diana so we could go through it on our quest for finding incriminating evidence on her.

The second reason I was nervous about my relationship with Jasmine was because of Jasmine’s ex; Chairman Acland himself.

Whilst Jasmine couldn’t understand Keiths actions. I could. I knew the actions of a jealous man when I saw them. That man wanted her back. That’s why he was pulling all these stunts lately. Always trying to see her, asking for joint custody, etc. It was only going to get worse.
