Husband you've abandoned me Fine I'll focus on raising my son novel Chapter 165

Chapter 165: Robert Carrington Jr.

"Ms Towers, you don’t have any formal credentials for the position my brother employed you for, do you?" he asked me his face already having come to a conclusion about our relationship.

My lips pressed together as I looked at him.

"No," the answer struggled to leave my lips. If course it looked like I was taking advantage of Louis to get what I wanted.

"Ms Towers, I think it’s best you resign from the company and return to Chairman Acland. He told me he is worried for you and would more than happy to have you in his care. Whatever, you two are going through I’m sure you’ll work through it together."

This was exactly what I had feared ever since I read the email on Louis’ phone that day. That I was in trouble However it was clear his answer was coming from what Keith had told him.

"And what about Louis? Does he agree with this?" I asked him.

"Louis, will be informed and will comply with the decision I have made," he told me.

No, I thought to myself. This couldn’t be happening. I couldn’t leave Louis, not like this. Even if I left him there was no way I would return to Keith whom I didn’t need. I had more than enough money to take care of Tony and I.

Suddenly the door slammed opened.

"Robert!" I heard a familiar voice shout. I turned around and I found Louis coming toward the desk.

"Louis—" I whispered in surprise at his appearance.

LOUIS’ POV

I literally ran out of the Garden House HQ building and to the car waiting for me outside. Was Robert crazy? To take Jasmine without warning? Throughout the ride there I was just hoping I arrived before he forced Jasmine to sign a resignation paper or anything.

Upon arriving at the HQI stormed into the building.

I barged into Roberts office. Inside I found Jasmine seated at his desk facing him.

"Robert!" I yelled at I headed for his desk.

Robert turned to look at me. "Ah, brother you’ve arrived," he said to me.

"What is the meaning of this?" I asked as I stood behind Jasmine. "How dare you bring my assistant here without telling me first!" I yelled at him.

"I asked Ms Towers to come and she accepted," he said nonchalantly. "She came here willingly."

My eyes glared at him. "You know damn well she couldn’t say no to you."

He looked at me unimpressed. "In any case, I was informing Ms Towers here of what she has to do," he told me.

"Robert, I already told your assistant to tell you that I won’t be ending my relationship with Ms. Towers. Neither is will I be firing her from the company," I told him sternly.

I had never stood up for anything before against , my family but today I would stand for something I wanted.

"Louis, you seem to be too naive to understand that you are being used in this relationship to give

"Let’s go back to the HQ, okay?" I asked her and brought my hand to her cheek and caressed it. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"But what about your, brother?" she asked me in a worried tone. "I don’t want to cause any rift between you and your family."

"Don’t worry about that. Do you trust me?" I asked her.

"Of course, I do Louis," she replied. "But he’s your boss, you have to listen to him, no?"

I then backed her into the nearest wall without a care for anyone in the hallway watching.

"Louis!" she gasped as my hands cupped her face before I kissed her passionately. "Mm—" her words were muffled by my lips.

When we came apart she looked up at me, breathless with wide eyes.

"Jasmine, I will fight for you. I just need you to trust me. You’re not a problem for me at all," I told her.

Her emerald eyes searched mine for a moment before she looked away.

"Why didn’t tell me about all this before?" she asked me. "I saw the one of emails you received from the Carrington HQ the other day."

My eyes widened as I realized she had seen the email that time I left her in my office. So she was aware of all this.

"I just didn’t want you to worry. I wanted to handle it on my own," I told her.

"Aren’t you the one who is always preaching that it’s okay to ask for help?" she reminded me.
