TONY’S POV
Ever since my mother asked me to get the hair from Marco I wondered how I was going to go about it.
Marco just ran off that day after he fell into the fountain, and I heard he was sent home afterward.
I hadn’t spoken to him since, nor had I seen him much either. I saw him twice this past week but from a distance. Once when I was changing classes to go for another lesson and another was when we were being picked up to go home when school ended.
I couldn’t approach him at either of those times. I thought perhaps he was mad at me. If it was then I would have trouble getting the hair my mother had asked for. I know she had told me that it wasn’t an issue if I couldn’t do it. However, I wanted to try to help her and Marco. Since she said getting a hair from him would help. Though I didn’t understand how a simple hair would help my mother seemed sure of it.
It was late on a Thursday afternoon and it was currently study time. I had finished using the bathroom near my classroom and was washing my hands.
As I walked out of the bathroom and into the hallway, suddenly I felt something tap against me. I turned around and found Marco standing in the hallway near the bathroom.
"Marco!" I said his name surprised to see him again. I was also surprised that he was the one calling me. "What are you doing here?"
"Can we talk?" he asked me.
I nodded my head as I looked at him with a confused expression.
"Let’s go to the rooftop," he said to me and I agreed.
I followed him to the rooftop of the school building and went to the fence/railings to prevent students from falling off.
"I’m sorry about what happened that time when you fell in the fountain, you left without another word and then I heard you had to go home," I apologized to him.
"No, it wasn’t your fault," he said to me. "I went after that frisbee without thinking."
"Are you okay? Your eyes turned really red that day," I asked him.
"Yeah, I’m fine, " he answered nervously.
"Well then i
"Tony, I really shouldn’t be talking to you," he said nervously. "My mum would be so angry."
"I know," I told him. "But you called me." I reminded him that he was the one who had pulled me to talk to him.
"I just wanted to talk to you since we didn’t talk the last time. I immediately went home he explained.
The events of that afternoon then replayed in my mind. I then recalled something that had been bothering me since then.
"I saw bruises on the chest the last time...Did your mum do that to you?" I asked him hoping he would answer,
A look of horror appeared in his eyes. They then averted their eyes to the floor and he wrapped his arm around himself squeezing it. He was uncomfortable answering.
"Does Dad know about this?" I asked him. Why didn’t Dad notice? I wondered.
"No, mum makes sure he never sees or that I get close to him when she’s not with me," he told me.
My eyes widened in horror o wasn’t surprised that he didn’t know but I expected more from him.
"Marco, my mother can help you I told him and he can help you," I told him trying to convince him.
My mother had told me to weith steal or take it with me to steal or take the hair from him, however, maybe I didn’t have to forcibly take it from him. Maybe I can convince him to trust me and give the hairs to me.
"My mum kicked you and your mother kicked you out of the house how will you be able to help? Dad doesn’t believe you, either."
"We’re doing just fine actually now," I told him. "My mum has a friend called Louis, who has been helping us a lot I think we really can help you!" I desperately tried to convince him.
His eyes looked into mine as he seemed to think about it.
"How can you help me?" he asked me.
"I just need you to give me some of your hair. Just a few strands," I explained.
"My hair?" he asked in horror.
I nodded my head in response.
His hands went to his black hair and he nervously touched it.
"No, Tony," he said. "I can’t do it."
"Why not?" I asked him.
"I can’t say," he refused to answer. I had a strong feeling it had something to do with his secret. Like his allergic reaction to the water last time.
"I shouldn’t have come talk to you," he said to me and turned as he was leaving.
