Chapter 303: A revenge plan

I took care of us and did the best I could. I tried everything to make her stop drinking and try and other things with her life but nothing ever worked. She just couldn’t forget about my father and apparently she loved him that much.

It was only the two of us. It was a lonely life. Unlike spending my time like other teenagers I spent my time mostly taking care of my mother.

Then one day i came home from school and found her completely immoble on that couch.

At first I thought she was just alseep that she would wake up soon enough. So I went about my day and went to my room to do my homework.

I slowly approached her in the couch to pale, skinny figure. I checked her pulse and the truth became clear. She was dead.

I was 17 years old. The moment was blurry for me as I had a hard time processing what had just happened. I couldn’t believe. I remember screaming. Then pulling out my phone and calling for help.

I don’t know whether an hour or five minutes has passed before the police arrived.

The entire process of the police placing my mother’s body and taking her away was so unreal to me.

They then told me since my mother was gone I had to be in the custody of my father. I tried to refuse but they told me it was the law and that I had no choice. They told me he was going to come and get me soon.

That man, after years on him never coming to see my mother and I he was going to get me.

Days later my mother was buried and my father did not show up.

It was two days later when he came to my mothers house. The home he had bought so long ago for her.

"Kolton, is it?" my father asked.

I shook my head in disbleief. He didn’t even remember my name.

"Yes it is," I said. I smiled in his face but I really wanted to slap him.

Beside him was a young woman looked to be in her mid twenties. She held onto his arm and i realized this was his girlfriend.

"I’m sorry about what happened to your mother," he said.
