It had been years since I’d seen Louis. In my past life I saw the Carringtons at socialite events but I didn’t recall ever seeing Louis. I would see his father, his older brother and sister. His elder brother took over the company in future.
The last time I saw Louis was when I was 19 and he was 13. Just before I got married.
I looked at him once more. If I was 29 now then that meant he was around 23 now.
Would he recognize me? I asked myself. He couldn’t possibly recognize me, it had been years since we’d seen each other. Not to mention he was a child at the time. It would be like that other times with the other diners.
I followed Josh’s suit and we placed all the plates on the table. I kept my head down and tried not to make too much contact. I started with the side of the man I didn’t know and went round to the assistant then finally to Louis side. My head was still down as I began to place his drink on the table. However an I suddenly
As I finished putting everything down I finally came round to Louis side put down his plate and then I looked at him and was completely caught of guard when I found him staring at me too. It seemed like a clear look of recognition. He knew who I was.
My hands then shook in panic and the glass fell from my hands.
"Jasmine!" I then heard Josh call out to me.
I looked down and realised I’d spilled the drink all over Louis. My eyes widened in horror as the glass fell to the floor and broke into three distinct pieces.
"Oh my goodness!" I said in surprise.
Louis also looked down at his suit as if just realising what I had done.
"I’m so sorry," I apologised to Louis as I knelt and picked up the broken glass from the floor.
"What is wrong with you!? Are you paying attention?!" The supervisor beside Louis yelled at me.
"I’m so sorry," I apologised profusely once again to Louis. I took a napkin on the table to try clean up the spilled juice.
What had I done? I asked myself. I had been so distracted by Louis’ gaze on me. Looks I didn’t have to worry about being found out. I was already going to be fired for my incompetence.
"It’s alright," Louis said to me in a calm voice. It was a deep, stern but gentle voice all at the same time.
"Do you know how much a suit like this costs you stupi—" the assistant continued to yell at me.
"Calm down Andrew, there’s no need to scare her. The ," Louis interrupted him. "And you’re making our guest feel uncomfortable."
Andrew frowned as he bit his lip in frustration. As if he was fighting not to say more to me.
The guest being the man they having the meeting with Louis and Andrew. He awkwardly stared at the situation before him.
"Excuse me for a moment I’m going to clean up and we can resume?" Louis explained to the guest.
