Chapter 34: After shift meet up

JASMINES POV

"Save it," he said to me and held his hand for me to stop. "You are extremely lucky the CEO has decided to overlook the incident because I would have had you fired," he spat at me.

Well he certainly hated me I thought to myself. He was so rude and crass with his comments. So I wasn’t getting fired? I thought to myself.

"Michael, why didn’t you have a younger more pleasing waitress serve us," he said to the manager and then winked at Megan. Megan’s expression then changed to one of visible disgust after that comment.

"At least if she made a mistake her innocence would be more easy to forgive." Andrew went on.

That comment left a bad taste in in my mouth. Andrew looked like he was in late 40’s and Megan was literally 20. How disgusting.

"I apologise Mr Gatwick," the manager said to him. "I swear that an incident like this won’t happen again."

Andrew, Mr Gatwick scoffed at that. "Make sure to hire competent people," he said to the manager.

After yelling for a while Andrew then left the kitchens to join Louis who had already left after their lunch meeting.

"I hate that guy," Megan commented once he left.

"Mr Gatwick isn’t my favourite person either but we have no choice but to appease him. "Alright, lunch break for everyone and we start dinner preparations." He announced.

The manager then turned to me. " Luckily the CEO was gracious and understanding of the situation and calmed Mr Gatwick who was ready to have you fired."

"I’m grateful to the CEO then," I said.

I wanted to sigh in relief at the fact that I hadn’t been fired but I was still wary of Louis who definitely recognized me. I couldn’t get the look of recognition out of my mind. I didn’t see him again after he left the room to clean up.

A few hours later and it was the end of my shift. As I left the restaurant and began to make my way to collect Tony, I couldn’t stop thinking about the incident with Louis earlier. What was going to happen to me now? I thought to myself.

It was as I walked down the street that I noticed a sedan car parked at the end of street. It caught my eye because I saw the person in the driver seat staring at me. I approached the back door opened and a figure stepped out. At first I wasn’t sure if I was seeing right. The dark hair, the golden eyes, sun-kissed tan skin. It was Louis.

Shit. Speak of the Devil I stopped walking and stared at him in disbelief. After todays mishap I didn’t know if could face him.

I wanted to run away but he had already seen me. I wondered what he was doing here and whom he was waiting for. He seemed to be staring at me... was he here to see me? I thought to myself. No way. However, he was clearly looking at me. This couldn’t be good I thought to myself.

I noticed he was wearing a new suit so he had left the restaurant and changed, then returned?
