JASMINES POV
The following day as I worked at the restaurant I anxiously waited for Mike’s update on how his father surgery was going to turn out. He was supposed to come in to work but he requested to make up for his shift today another day. He had told the manager it was due to personal reasons. No one else at the restaurant knew what was going on with him aside from me. It wasn’t to speak on his situation so I kept his secret.
"I wonder what’s going on with Mike," Megan asked on our lunch break after lunch service.
Josh was smoking in a corner of the room as he checked his phone as well as he checked his phone.
"Has he spoken to you?" I asked Megan.
"No, but he did say that he has something important to tell me soon," she told me surprised. "Is he finally going to explain me what’s been going on with him?"
That meant he planned to let her know soon. I was glad he keeping his promise.
"I think he will," I said to her giving her hope.
"I hope so," she said a little sceptical. Oh he had to thought to myself Mike had promised me he would tell her. If he squirmed out of it I would corner
*******
It was later in the afternoon after I had picked up Tony that I got an update from Mike.
My fathers’ surgery went well! He texted me.
I felt a wave of relief come over me as I read his text. ’That’s great news’. I texted back.
’The doctors are saying that his body is showing signs of accepting the kidney and in few days should it should be functioning properly.’ Miked added.
’This is amazing Mike, I’m so happy," I replied.
It was a gamble paying for the surgery knowing there was a chance his body could reject the kidney. I’m glad the gamble had paid off in the end.
Victoria and I over then moon. Thank you so much Jasmine you have no idea
With my mothers life in mind, I did remember that before she died my father had the family doctors visit her and diagnose her from the room he hid her in. It was common for socialites to have their own private doctors. In fact there were clinics specifically for rich people in the city.
Of course in my last life when I was sick I couldn’t go to those specialist clinics. I could contact the doctors to ask for her reports and see if there was anything I could find out about her sickness and what caused it. If it was the same then my future illness was caused a family ailment.
Another thing I could do was ask doctors their opinion on what could cause the symptoms. In my past life the doctors were unable to identify what had caused my sickness they said they couldn’t identify it. There was chance that if I asked the doctors now they would respond similarly to how they had in my past life.
Nonetheless, I wanted to ask I wouldn’t just limit my research to the Yorkshire hospital which was the hospital I had been admitted to even in my past life. I would ask other professionals from different hospitals across the country surely one of them had to know something. I would send various emails to all the different hospitals and to my family’s doctor in due time.
After a moment I then heard the doorbell ring. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Who was it? If it was Keith again I was going to respectfully tell him to F off. I let out a sigh as I checked the the peephole of the door.
My heart sank in my chest upon seeing who it was. "Diana," I said in surprise.
What was she doing here in person? And at this time? It was literally 9pm. I didn’t open the door and instead turned away from it. Planning to ignore her.
"Jasmine I know you’re in there let me in!" she demanded from outside.
