Husband you've abandoned me Fine I'll focus on raising my son novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75: Can you be the bait?

That was a major downside of a company being bought out to remove competition. The livelihoods of all the employees would be affected. Sure they could find another job but that was a lot of work. Hundreds of people all losing their jobs at the same time was never good.

I took the plates for my table that were now ready and walked out into the dining room as I thought about the restaurant. After lunch service it was lunch break for us. Many of my coworkers went eat at the lunchroom in the staff area.

I gathered Megan and Mike to a place where I could talk to them privately.

"I have a plan to stop Gatwick," I told them.

They both cocked their eyebrows, then looked at each before looking back at me.

"Jasmine, unless you have connections with the CEO himself there’s no stopping Gatwick," Megan said to me.

My eyes suspiciously looked away as I internally, nervously laughed.

"I know Gatwick seems impossible to take down but there is a way," I told them.

"What do you have in mind?" Mike asked.

"We need to gather as much evidence as we can," I started. "We need information on all his past victims and most importantly we need to catch him in the act and have a recording of it."

"And how exactly would you be able to catch him in the act?" Mike asked me.

I had thinking about this since the day before when I talked to Louis.

I pressed my lips together. This was the hard part. "Well Megan you’re the one who he has his attention on at this restaurant. So I was thinking perhaps you could lure him when he comes to the restaurant. You will wear recording equipment under your clothes and we collect the recordings of him," I explained my idea.

"Jasmine what the hell!? You can’t be serious?" Mike yelled out in anger.

"I know it’s a lot I’m asking of you but it’s the only way we can catch him in the act," I started. "But it’s the only way we can catch him in the act.

"Jasmine, I’m all for stopping Gatwick but intentionally asking Megan to put herself in danger is crazy. There is no telling hiwnit will go and what he’ll do to her all for evidence," he expressed his concerns to me.

"I won’t let Gatwick harm Megan. We’ll be watching and listening in from nearby ready to stop things once it gets too far," I explained to him. "All we need is evidence of him saying inappropriate things and suggesting to make sexual advances."

"Still Jasmine this is a man who has has been known to silence many of his last victims. He’s too unpredictable," Mike said.

Mikes protectiveness over Megan made complete sense. She was his friend and he had feelings for her. I knew I was asking Megan to essentially sacrifice herself for this evidence. Not to mention I hadn’t explained to them why I was so confident it would work. I was sure I would protect her. When we carried out the plan I would contact Louis to the scene immediately.

Tony is already being collected, right. I reminded myself. However, where the hell had these two come from? Louis was right, I hadn’t seen either of them all day as I worked but they were watching over me apparently. Neither had my coworkers mentioned anything either.

A car was waiting for Kyle, Harry and me at the same spot we were dropped off earlier this morning. We got in and made our way to Louis’ apartment.

Upon arriving I met Tony moments later who had returned from school. We greeted each other and talked for a little bit. He then went to his room to do his homework and I went to mine to try contact Rebecca.

Then the message notification tone of my phone suddenly pinged and I checked it.

’Jasmine we need to talk,’ the message read. My expression became puzzled.

What do you mean we need to talk? I then began aggressively typing on my phone.

"Talk about what, Keith? There is nothing left to say. Just sign the divorce papers and we can move on,’ I replied to him. It wasn’t that difficult.

"Jasmine I went to your house everything is gone, where are you!?" he asked me.

Reading that almost made my heart stop for a second. I was so glad I had moved out of that house as I would have had another unexpected visit from him. But, why had he gone to my house to see me yet again? I didn’t get it, every time he would come to insult me and continue to express how he didn’t believe me and that I was lying so why did continue wanting to see me?
