Chapter 108 He Might Secretly Like You
After arriving at the convention, Wynette headed straight for the signing area.
One of the hottest ongoing comics right now was supposedly created with Ammius–Crocus involved in the production.
Looking around at the packed convention hall, Shirley turned to Wynette in confusion. “But didn’t the organizers announce last night that Ammius–Crocus wouldn’t be attending this event? They even opened up refunds.”
The organizers really had posted an announcement the previous night, and Shirley had immediately messaged Wynette about it.
But Wynette never replied.
Even this morning at work, Shirley had brought it up again.
Wynette felt like the trip was already planned anyway, so there was no harm in coming to the convention and looking around. She could treat it like a chance to relax.
Maybe she would even discover more great artists here.
Actually, she had other ideas too.
Wynette wanted to establish a voice acting studio, and supposedly, quite a few voice actors were attending this convention as well. She figured she could scout talent while also checking out the market.
Now that digital entertainment was so convenient, audiobooks and audio dramas were becoming more popular. She felt like it was worth considering.
Expanding the business in multiple directions was never a bad thing.
Wynette smiled at Shirley. “Let’s just look around first.”
The two of them wandered through the comic section while asking around for information about Ammius–Crocus.
Unfortunately, the person was far too mysterious, and very little information could actually be found. In the end, Wynette directly approached the event organizers.
The person in charge immediately greeted her with a smile after seeing her. “Ms. Jewell, right? Hello. Before you arrived, Mr. Gallagher already spoke to me. If there’s anything you want to know, just ask. If I know it, I’ll tell you.”
Hearing that, Wynette’s first thought was Adriel.
She asked uncertainly, “Adriel?”
“Yes, him. Our company has a project currently in discussions with Gallagher Group, and Mr. Gallagher’s assistant specifically called us to ask us to cooperate.” The organizer smiled even more as he explained.

Wynette nodded. “I’d like to know whether your publishing company has any contact information for Ammius–Crocus.”
The moment he heard that, the organizer looked slightly troubled. “We do have contact information, but it’s handled by the operations manager. Usually, we’re the ones contacting him. He basically never initiates conversations with us.”
Just mentioning it made him think back to how frustrated the operations team had been.
Because every time they messaged him, they never got a definite response, to the point that the operations manager had panicked several times thinking deadlines wouldn’t be met. She’d practically been stressed to death.
Thankfully, every request from the publishing house had always been completed on schedule by
Ammius–Crocus. He would send the finished work to operations the day before the agreed deadline every single time.
Eventually, the operations team gradually figured out how to work with him.
If they left requests and got no reply, it meant there was no problem, and he’d submit on time.
If the request was unreasonable, he’d simply send a single period in response, then continue delivering the work according to his own ideas anyway. Still, the quality was always excellent, so the publishing company never had anything to worry about.
Wynette quietly listened to the organizer talk about Ammius–Crocus. Hearing all this, it really did sound like his personality.
After the organizer finished speaking, Wynette softly said, “Then could I trouble your operations team to ask whether he’d be willing to exchange contact information with me?”
Since the other party was clearly very particular, Wynette felt that directly demanding his contact info would come across as rude.
She figured it’d be better to ask for his opinion first.
Being too abrupt might leave a bad impression.
Hearing her words, the organizer immediately replied, “Ms. Jewell, I’ll call the operations manager over so you can speak with her directly.”
As he spoke, he pulled out his phone and called operations.
Half an hour later, the publishing company’s operations manager arrived at the convention.
After hearing the explanation from her boss, she directly handed the contact over to Wynette. “I’ll just send it to you directly. Even if Ammius–Crocus sees my messages, he usually doesn’t reply anyway.”
