I Choose Him, Your Worst Enemy novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36 I’m Not Joking, Wynette

When Noah got shut down, Adriel’s tight expression finally softened.

The moment he saw Noah earlier, he already knew this guy had come for Wynette.

As for why? It didn’t matter. Whatever the reason, it wasn’t anything good.

Since that was the case, Adriel saw no need to be polite.

Finished

The two of them had never gotten along anyway. When they met, things always turned ugly. And this time, Adriel didn’t hold back at all.

But Noah was really weak when it came to verbal war.

Weak as always.

Wynette didn’t realize this, but every time Noah and Adriel crossed paths, Noah always came out on the losing end. He never got the upper hand.

That

was one of the reasons Noah hated Adriel so much.

With Adriel, Noah never gained anything. He was always the one getting pushed down.

Adriel, on the other hand, didn’t bother with him anymore.

Instead of going back to Wynette’s room right away, he took the fresh test result and went to the doctor’s office.

Even though Wynette only had an allergy, she took the chance to get a full checkup.

Some of the reports were already out, while others would take a few more days.

Adriel wanted the doctor to go over the results.

Because of that, he didn’t notice that Noah had come back again.

The more Noah thought about it, the more something felt off. He had reached the parking lot, but in the end, he went back to Wynette’s room.

When he saw that she was alone, he let out a quiet breath.

Guess I was overthinking. There’s no way Adriel is here taking care

of her.

Noah almost laughs at himself. What was I even thinking?

Feeling a bit guilty, he called his assistant and told him to reach out to Wynette again to talk about the game launch.

The assistant sounded helpless. He said he couldn’t reach Wynette. She had blocked him.

Not just him. No one at the studio could be reached either.

Chapter 35 Uro Not Joking. Wynette

Hearing that, Noah finally believed it. Wynette had really given up. She just acting out or trying to upset him.

Thinking back to the things he had said to her before, Noah’s face darkened.

He turned the car around, planning to go to the hospital and talk to her.

But then Lorelei kept calling. Again and again.

In the end, Noah gave up the idea.

To him, Lorelei’s safety mattered more. He was afraid she might hurt herself again.

At the hospital, Wynette was on the phone with Jasmine.

She already heard that Noah told his assistant to contact the studio again. It only made her laugh.

Things had come this far, and he still didn’t get it?

Her expression was dark when she hung up the phone.

When Adriel walked in, that was the first thing he noticed.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, walking over.

Wynette shook her head lightly. “Nothing.”

She could handle it herself.

Adriel studied her for a moment and said, “I ran into Noah outside. Was he here to see you?”

Even though she denied it, he already knew the answer.

Wynette didn’t hide it. “Yeah. Guess his conscience finally woke up. He remembered I’m allergic to grapes, so he came to check if I’m still alive.”

She said it like a joke, even making fun of herself.

Clearly, she didn’t take Noah’s visit seriously.

To her, it was just a rare moment of guilt from him. Nothing worth remembering.

Even though she sounded casual, Adriel caught the hint behind her words.

He smiled slightly. “Did things not go well?”

That made sense.

Noah must have taken a hit here, which explained why he looked so angry earlier.

So he dumped all that frustration on me? Pathetic.
