Noah also heard the noise outside.

The smile on his face faded the moment he saw Wynette. His face turned cold.

His eyes held blame and clear displeasure.

Wynette noticed his gaze too. She stood behind Kaylee with no expression on her face.

"Noah, Wynette was being childish. I brought her here to say sorry to you." Kaylee forced a flattering smile, her tone full of pleading.

As she spoke, she pushed Wynette forward until she stood right in front of Noah.

Noah only watched the scene coldly. He had no plan to speak.

He was waiting for Wynette to apologize first.

In the past, every time they fought, wasn't Wynette the one who gave in first and tried to please him?

This time would be the same.

Thinking about that, Noah's mood eased a little.

Seeing Wynette stay silent, Kaylee pushed her arm. "Wynette, hurry and apologize."

She gave her a sharp look.

Wynette only curled her lips. "Apologize for what? Noah, you're the one who keeps breaking promises, not me. Since you can't let go of Lorelei, then fine. I'll step aside for you two."

She met Noah's unhappy gaze and kept talking. "Noah, aren't you tired going back and forth between two women? I'm tired just watching it. What's the point?

"If you can't let go of Lorelei, you could've told me. I'm not someone who clings to people. I didn't do anything wrong, so I won't apologize, and breaking up is a choice I made after thinking it over."

Noah's face was already full of anger, but Wynette didn't care anymore. "How you and Lynette want to act out your sad love story is your business. I'm not that cheap to be part of your little game.

"Honestly, it makes me sick," Wynette said it without holding back.

As soon as she finished, Noah exploded with anger. "Wynette, there's nothing between Lorelei and me. It's not as dirty as you think. Even if you're mad, there should be a limit.

"You're a woman too. How can you talk about Lorelei like that? Do you know how important a woman's reputation is? I want you to apologize to Lorelei."

As he spoke, Lorelei started crying again. "Wynette, how could you say that about me? Even if you don't believe me, you believe Noah, right?"

"Yes, Noah and I dated before, but that's all in the past. He is only helping me as a friend. Even if you're upset, you can't joke about my reputation."

Lorelei's face turned red from crying. "Wynette, why are you trying to ruin my name like this? Fine. I won't trouble Noah anymore. I'll stay away from both of you, okay?

She fainted just like that.

A loud slap rang out.

Noah felt humiliated. He gritted his teeth. "Fine. Break up then. I'd like to see how you and your family survive without my family."

Even now, he was still using the Jewells to threaten her.

But Wynette didn't care anymore. Her red lips parted slightly. "You don't need to worry about that, Mr. Shepherd."

After saying that, she ignored Noah's yelling and attempts to stop her. She turned and walked away.

Noah stood there with a dark face, staring at her back in anger.

He didn't believe Wynette could really go against Kaylee and leave him.
