Chapter 50 No More Games, No More Us
“Noah!” Lorelei rushed over and checked him from head to toe, her hands shaking.
Finished
When she saw he wasn’t hurt, she snapped without looking, “Are you blind? Didn’t anyone teach you to say sorry when you bump into someone-
She stopped mid–sentence when she saw who was standing in front of her.
Wynette.
She went silent at once.
The group of mutual friends behind her was mad too, but the moment they saw Wynette, they all froze and exchanged looks.
No one expected to run into her here.
It was obvious something had gone wrong between Wynette and Noah. Both of them looked upset.
Wynette swept her eyes over the group. She looked at Lorelei and sneered coldly, “Sorry, my eyesight is just fine. I meant to hit Noah.”
She didn’t hold back.
Everyone turned to look at her.
Someone quickly stepped in to smooth things over. “Hey, Wynette, what a coincidence. We didn’t expect to see you here. Mr. Shepherd hasn’t come out in a while, so Derek put this together. We wanted to invite you, but we didn’t have your contact info. Sorry about that.”
Derek Dunn was a friend of Noah’s. He used to organize gatherings like these all the time.
It was true that Derek didn’t have Wynette’s number.
But quite a few people here did.
Or at least, they used to, before Wynette blocked them all.
None of that mattered to her anymore.
Wynette looked at them flatly. She had no interest in small talk.
She had never liked Noah’s friends, and she rarely spent time with them.
She pulled her gaze back and was ready to walk away.
Noah shouted, “Wynette, stop right there. Don’t leave until you explain yourself!”
He rushed toward her again.
His friends quickly grabbed him to hold him back.

To anyone who didn’t know better. it looked like he was about to hit her.
A flash of displeasure crossed Lorelei’s eyes; she reached out and held Noah too.
Wynette ignored him and kept walking.
“Wynette!” Noah shook them off and charged after her.
Several of his friends stepped in and blocked Wynette and Joanne.
One of them looked torn. “Ms. Jewell, whatever this is, it’s better to talk it out.”
Wynette frowned at this.
Noah had already caught up to her.
Lorelei followed right behind.
Noah’s face was dark. “Why are you breaking up with me? Wynette, I said I don’t agree.”
The moment he said that, everyone around them stared at Wynette in shock.
They all knew how much she loved Noah.
No matter how cold he had been, she had always stayed gentle and calm, she never lost her temper.
But that same girl was asking for a breakup.
Was it because of Lorelei?
Their eyes moved between the three of them.
To be fair, Noah and Lorelei had been getting a little too close.
That was why everyone had been teasing them earlier tonight.
And Noah hadn’t denied it.
Now this breakup news made things even more explosive.
The most surprising part? Noah didn’t agree to it!
When Lorelei heard the word “breakup,” a hint of joy flashed across her face.
