Chapter 89 Give Her Something to Do
Prished
In just one afternoon, Shirley had already screened a long list of candidates and sent it to Wynette’s email.
After going through them, Wynette wasn’t satisfied.
Some of the artists were incredibly talented, but their focus wasn’t on fashion.
And with the tight timeline, there wasn’t enough time to train or guide them.
Wynette sent Shirley a link.
It was for a freelance illustrator and fashion designer with the ID “Ammius–Crocus.”
This person didn’t post often.
Maybe once every two or three months–sometimes illustrations, sometimes rough or half–finished fashion designs.
Even so, every post was eye–catching.
The owner of that account had a pretty unusual personality. After posting, they’d just leave it alone, never replying to comments, never interacting, like they were just completing a task. He’d never really managed his account.
Despite that, Ammius–Crocus had over four million followers.
Wynette had discovered this account more than a year ago.
Back then, she had tried sending multiple direct messages. No replies. Not even read. All her messages just sat there, unopened.
Every time Wynette saw that long row of unread messages in the chat box, she found it oddly fascinating.
She was curious about this person.
Not just because of the mystery.
But because she herself could never leave messages unread. She always had to open and clear them.
Meanwhile, this person just let everything sit there untouched.
Since then, Wynette had been wanting to find a way to connect with them.
And for this fashion show that Jewell Group was entering, this was the first person she thought of.
She wanted to try inviting Ammius–Crocus to join Jewell Group’s design team.
Wynette texted Shirley, “Help me look into this. See if there’s any way to reach this person.”
Shirley didn’t reply right away. She clicked into the link Wynette sent.

After looking through it, she realized there was basically nothing there except the username.
Clean. Too clean… Even the IP address was hidden!
Other than that ID, there was nothing.
Finished
Since she started working with Wynette, this was the first time Shirley had gotten such a challenging task.
She quickly replied, “I’ll try!”
Wynette told her not to stress over it too much and just do her best.
Honestly, Wynette herself wasn’t sure if they could even find this person.
If they could, great.
If not, they still needed to keep searching for other designers, just in case.
At that moment, Adriel handed her a stack of documents. “These are candidates I had Blaze pick out. Take a look.”
Wynette reached out and took them.
It was a well–known design team under the Lawrences in Riveville.
Jamie Lawrence owned a large talent agency that had produced some of the biggest names in the industry.
From award–winning actors to the hottest pop stars. Their agency was a total powerhouse that had launched the careers of half the A–list.
With so many big names under them, the company had also developed several well–known brands to support their artists.
Because of that, the Lawrences only hired top–tier designers.
Wynette looked at Adriel in shock. “The Lawrences’s in–house designers? Adriel, are you joking?”
Was he seriously not joking?
If anyone had wanted to leave, they would’ve done it years ago. They wouldn’t have stayed this long.
The fact that Payton was offering triple the salary just showed how determined she was to poach them.
It wasn’t just Wynette who got the news; Adriel heard about it, too.
Blaze was on the phone updating him.
Adriel listened quietly, then smirked. “If Payton has that much free time, then let’s give her something to do. I don’t give a damn about that little company of hers. No need to crush it, just keep her busy enough so she doesn’t have time to mess with Wynette.”
He could’ve stepped in and taken Payton down directly.
But he also knew that compared to him teaching Payton a lesson, Wynette would probably rather handle it
herself.
When it came to dealing with the Shepherds, he only needed to support her from the side and clear
obstacles now and then. The rest could be left to her.
Blaze hesitated for a second, then added, “Also, Ms. Jewell seems to be looking for someone. Her assistant posted about it in a group.”

He sent Adriel a screenshot of the message.
At that moment, Blaze couldn’t help feeling proud of how dedicated he was.
On his alternate account, he only had one contact–Shirley.
And even that had taken him ages–lurking in that big group forever, pulling every trick he could think of just to add her.
Adriel looked at the screenshot. Shirley was asking if anyone knew Ammius–Crocus, offering a high reward for any information on that ID.
He thought for a moment, then told Blaze, “Help her look into it.”
He’d just searched the account Wynette was searching for, and it seemed she was scouting them for the upcoming fashion show.
