I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 235

Marcus chuckled. "Max, didn't you use to be obsessed with Aria? Since when did you become so madly in love with Lyra?"

His obsession with Aria had practically been public knowledge.

Everyone and their mother knew about it.

Even Maxwell knew it deep down.

The fact that he had loved Aria would forever be the biggest wedge between him and Lyra.

"That's none of your business. I'm warning you—stay the hell away from her."

With that, Maxwell opened the door to get out.

But Marcus wasn't going to let him have the last word.

"And what if I say no?"

Maxwell froze, slowly turning to look at him.

In that instant, a blatant, terrifying murderous intent rolled off of him.

Marcus had zero doubt that if he kept pushing, Maxwell would find a way to end him.

But so what?

Maxwell wasn't the man he used to be.

And Marcus wasn't the same either.

"Maybe you didn't know this, but long before you, I told Grandpa I wanted to marry Lyra. If you hadn't somehow won her over first, she and I would have been the ones doing the corporate marriage."

Maxwell stared at him, the sheer viciousness in his eyes piercing straight through the tinted lenses of his sunglasses.

"Since you didn't know how to appreciate her, why not step aside and give someone else a chance?"

The next second, Marcus started the engine.

"Do me a favor and shut the door. Thanks."

Maxwell was boiling with rage, but causing a scene right outside the Lennox building wasn't an option.

Marcus seemed to know this perfectly well, which was exactly why he was acting so brazen.
