I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 184

Susan nodded in agreement.

But as soon as he turned away, she shoved the lamp into her own drawer.

Stella had just finished washing up and saw her do it. She couldn't help but ask.

"That's such a pretty lamp. Why aren't you using it?"

Susan glanced at her and explained, "Mr. Vaughn told me to throw it away. It's in perfectly good condition, and I couldn't bear to toss it. It probably belongs to Ms. Quinn anyway. I figured I'd hold onto it and give it back to her along with the rest of her packed things whenever I see her again."

This had been bothering Stella for a while.

Since Susan brought it up, she couldn't hold back her complaints. "Susan, don't you think Mr. Vaughn was way too ruthless breaking up with her like that?"

Susan shook her head. "Who knows what really happened."

They had been perfectly fine just a few days ago. How did it end up like this, to the point where he couldn't even stand to keep a single item of hers?

Stella sighed. "The house feels so empty since Ms. Quinn left. Capitalists are so cold-blooded. I just hope Mr. Vaughn doesn't regret it someday."

Susan replied, "That's impossible."

Stella leaned in, acting like an expert. "You don't get it. A billionaire boss who doesn't have to grovel to win his wife back isn't a real billionaire boss. You clearly don't watch enough TV, Susan."

Susan chuckled, shaking her head helplessly. "I watched that boy grow up. Once he makes a decision, he never looks back. I've never seen him regret a single thing. I just... I feel so bad for Sienna."

Susan let out a heavy sigh.

Stella wasn't having it. "Why feel bad? Ms. Quinn is gorgeous, outgoing, and bright." The first time Stella saw her bare-faced and radiant, she almost mistook her for a low-key celebrity.

"Wesley is absolutely smitten with her. He blushes every time he sees her," Stella scoffed. "In my book, Ms. Quinn is the main character wherever she goes. Even without Mr. Vaughn, there will be a Mr. Smith or a Mr. Jones lining up for her."

"By then, Mr. Vaughn won't stand a chance. He'll be crying alone in his bed."

The next morning.

In the first-floor dining room, Susan had prepared Jorrod's breakfast bright and early, following his pre-amnesia dietary preferences.

Jorrod came downstairs wearing a crisp white dress shirt, the cuffs casually rolled up twice.

He strode over to the table and surveyed the spread.

A cup of freshly brewed black coffee, a small plate of fruit, a boiled egg, and two slices of crispy toast.

His usual.

But after two bites, he lost his appetite.
