I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 277

By the time Jorrod arrived, several men in the room were still trying to block George from leaving.

They were afraid he would actually walk out, but also terrified of accidentally hurting him in the scuffle.

The room suddenly fell silent. It was as if they had seen a ghost. George subconsciously looked up and saw the man standing in the doorway.

A dark gray vest hugged his lean waist, layered over a perfectly ironed dress shirt and tie. With sharp shoulders and long, straight legs, he stood quietly at the entrance, the very picture of calm restraint.

This was not the young Jorrod he remembered.

Jorrod spoke first. "Mr. Quinn, I know you despise me. But business is business. By acting like this, the only thing you're hurting is your own body."

George scoffed. "Drop the gentle act, Jorrod. It's jarring! It's completely out of place and doesn't suit you at all!"

If even the hospital director had to bow and scrape to him over a patient, George could only imagine how ruthless this kid was behind closed doors.

Although he loathed the bed-stealing incident, if Jorrod was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes, George would rather check out.

"Huh? What is this about? Are you trying to repent for your sins by showering me with favors? Let me tell you, it's not that simple. I won't let you off the hook."

Jorrod replied smoothly, "Mr. Quinn, heal your injuries first. You'll need your strength to not let me off the hook."

George spat in disgust. "I can't wait that long! Let me tell you, Jorrod, stop calling me Mr. Quinn. I am no friend of yours!"

"Karma always comes for people like you! You're selfish and greedy. For your own personal desires, you made so many workers lose their livelihoods."

"I must have been out of my mind to actually think you were sincerely remorseful. I waited for you to recover so we could handle things."

"And what happened when you recovered, huh? You turned around and handled my family first!"

"I spit on you, you devious snake. Sooner or later, you'll..."

Listening to the tirade, Jorrod furrowed his brow.

He narrowed his eyes, concealing a fleeting glint of something unreadable.

On the hospital bed, George's rant wasn't enough to vent his anger, so he started throwing things at him.
