"I was skeptical at first, too." George leaned in closer. "Later, I pressed the lawyer again, and he swore nothing happened. And considering where things stand between the two of us, would he really try to hide it just to keep me from worrying? Plus, I literally saw him outside the window just yesterday."
He had been standing right down there. The man's tall, lean figure was perfectly straight, flanked by two suited employees who looked like assistants. He walked with a brisk, powerful stride, looking much more agile and commanding than any normal person. He certainly didn't look like someone who had just been severely burned.
George thought back to when he had accidentally scalded himself years ago—it hurt to sit, it hurt to lie down, it was pure, unadulterated agony.
That kid, with his pampered, delicate skin, couldn't possibly have that much pain tolerance.
"I guess the water wasn't as hot as I thought," George analyzed.
Hearing this explanation, Sienna finally let go of the tension in her chest. She glanced around the luxurious VIP suite. "Did Jorrod arrange this for you too?"
George couldn't deny it. Although he was incredibly reluctant and felt somewhat embarrassed, he admitted it and recounted the hospital staff's bed-stealing scandal.
"At first, staying here made my skin crawl. But then I figured, he bullied my daughter, so I'm damn well going to spend his money."
Out of sheer curiosity, he had asked the nurses, only to find out this suite cost thousands of dollars a night.
"I am absolutely not discharging! I'm going to drain his bank account until he's bankrupt!"
Sienna just sighed.

Since the injuries weren't severe, the massive weight finally lifted off Sienna's chest. The VIP suite had a dedicated resting room for family members, so she spent the night at the hospital keeping her parents company.
George couldn't wait to share his newfound luxury with his daughter. "Money really does buy everything. Even the bed here is miles better than the one we have at home."
Sienna silently disagreed.
Her own bed back at her place was still vastly superior.
As they chatted, George's lingering fear surfaced. "I've lived most of my life without ever harming another soul. Thank God he's alright."
However, given the hospital arrangements and her father's aggressive outburst, Sienna felt obligated by basic politeness to send Jorrod a message.
She started the text with an intentionally distant 'Mr. Vaughn' to draw a clear professional boundary.
