In any industry, people respected someone who was hardworking and willing to endure hardship. Although test shoots often ended up as scrapped footage and were incredibly tedious, stepping in to experience it personally was far better than just waiting for instructions to strike a pose.
The atmosphere grew tangibly awkward.
Hearing his words, the crew finally realized the director had mistaken Joey for the behind-the-scenes staffer.
It wasn't entirely his fault. It was rare for the lead actress to personally stand in for test shots, and since both women were surnamed Quinn, the crew just called out "Ms. Quinn." The director was famously bad with faces; getting them mixed up was completely understandable.
They genuinely looked Sienna up and down. Aside from her simple clothes, she seemed like she could bring her own unique flair to the shoot. Maybe, aside from fame, she wouldn't perform any worse than Joey.
Sienna hurriedly explained, "Director, I'm an internal employee from Stellaris Corp. I'm just here to oversee the production schedule. You might have confused our names."
Anyone with eyes could see she was gracefully trying to smooth things over.
But it was still mortifying for the actress.
Joey's face was completely dark.
Silently cursing the director for his atrocious eyesight, she forced a strained smile and explained, "Director Sinclair, as an actress, I firmly believe that being in this industry means not being afraid of hard work. That's exactly why I insisted on doing the test shoots myself."
"Oh..." Quentin remained entirely unfazed. He rubbed his nose and gave Joey a long, assessing look. "Alright then. Let's keep shooting."
This particular shot was pure torture.
By the time the director finally called it a wrap and the crew packed up the gear, it was already pushing eight o'clock at night.
The fading sun swallowed the last streaks of fiery orange, the sky darkened, and twilight surged in from all directions.
Sienna sat on a square plastic stool by the pool, typing out a daily progress report to the temporary production group chat.
Suddenly, a female voice rang out from behind her, sounding exceptionally icy against the evening breeze.
