I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 293

In this tug-of-war, the two sides finally reached an agreement.

As long as it didn't compromise the final visual aesthetic, they would use camera angles to fake the kiss.

By the time the decision was finalized, it was already pushing five in the afternoon. With the daylight fading, Quentin simply waved his hand and told everyone to return the next morning to shoot.

Sienna got home early. As she walked up the stairs, she surprisingly bumped into Arthur Carter in the hallway.

Ever since Martha Carter had made those harsh remarks, Sienna hadn't exchanged a single greeting with him.

This was their first time running into each other since.

Arthur's gaze lingered on Sienna's face, complicated and heavy. He waited for her to speak first, but instead, she just gave him a brief look, unlocked her door, and walked inside. Even as the door clicked shut, he never received a "Hello, Arthur."

Arthur stepped into his apartment, taking off his satchel and hanging it on the coat rack by the entrance.

He looked toward the kitchen.

"George Quinn quit today."

The man's gravelly, heavy voice echoed suddenly in the small apartment.

The woman in the kitchen stopped washing the vegetables, turning to meet Arthur's eyes.

Martha wiped the water off her hands onto her apron and hurried out. "What happened? Did he just get tired of the work?"

With high wages and great benefits, a family man wouldn't just quit out of the blue.

Arthur sat down. "He left in a hurry. I didn't even get to ask him a single question. When I checked my phone later, I saw he had already deleted both of us off WeChat."

"I'm worried he found out about me taking his spot back then." Arthur sighed deeply. "I told you we shouldn't have been greedy for that little bit of money. You just had to make me follow Miles Hammond and take that hush money. Do you have any idea how guilty I feel every time I see George now?"

Just the other day when they met, George was still complaining about the Vaughn Group's cruelty. "He still thinks we're all out on the streets since Wickham Industries went under!"

"So what?" Martha scoffed dismissively. "It's not like you were the one who stole his job. George's family is well-off, it's not like he was desperate for that one position! Besides, George and Miles never got along. Even if they had offered it to him, he might not have gone."
