I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 341

Sienna believed that, at least from Jorrod's perspective, he didn't hold the official title of her boyfriend.

He constantly referred to himself as her clandestine lover.

Yet she had never seen a lover act quite so brazenly.

Jorrod walked straight toward them, meeting Julian's bewildered gaze before coming to a smooth stop right beside Sienna.

He tilted his head slightly, his gaze sweeping lightly over her scarf.

Just as Sienna was struggling to figure out how to explain this to Julian, something unexpected happened.

Julian actually spoke to him first, a polite smile in his eyes. "Mr. Vaughn, what brings you here?"

Sienna was stunned. They actually knew each other.

She watched Jorrod's expression, searching for a crack in his composure, but there was none. He casually chatted with Julian, their conversation drifting smoothly into business matters.

After a few exchanges, the pieces clicked into place for Sienna.

Julian was new in town and had been facing some pushback from his peers, which had stalled his project approvals. Jorrod had made a single phone call to help him out, and by the next day, everything had been greenlit.

With that hurdle cleared, Julian was finally starting to settle into his new work environment.

But...

Sienna couldn't wrap her head around it.

Jorrod was the type of man who got jealous over his own shadow. Why on earth would he clear the path for the guy he viewed as a romantic rival?

Before they parted ways, Julian offered to treat him to dinner. Jorrod didn't give a definitive answer, only saying he would check his schedule.

Sienna waited until Julian had disappeared into the building.

Then she shot Jorrod a heated glare and marched toward the car.

Once inside, she tossed her phone aside, leaned back against the seat, and crossed her arms with a stony expression.

Jorrod knew he had stepped out of line. He leaned closer, his voice dropping into a soft, coaxing register. "I'm sorry. I couldn't hold myself back just now."

She had been perfectly calm until she caught her coworkers mouthing that she and Julian looked like a 'perfect couple'.

Sienna gave him the silent treatment. A moment later, her phone vibrated in her hand. She glanced down to see someone had wired fifty thousand dollars into her bank account.

"..."

She scoffed. "Mr. Vaughn certainly has money to burn."
