**When Night Grows Softer Hope Returns To Lead Us by Asa Rowan Finn**
**Chapter 189**
The look on his face was a mixture of surprise and confusion. “Yes!” he exclaimed without hesitation. “Did you really doubt that?” he inquired, his brow furrowing slightly.
Talya shifted her gaze, feeling a twinge of uncertainty. “Well, we just haven’t really discussed it, and I wasn’t entirely sure how you felt,” she admitted, her voice wavering slightly.
Liam’s eyes bore into hers, intense and unwavering. “Talya, from the very first moment I laid eyes on you, I was ready to mate with you. I’ve told you that!” His voice was low, yet filled with a sincerity that sent warmth flooding through her.
“I know,” Talya replied softly, her heart racing. “I just wanted to make sure you hadn’t changed your mind about it.”
“No, baby,” he said, his voice tender as he caressed her cheek with a gentle finger. “You have to believe me. My feelings for you will never waver.”
“Then let’s make it happen this weekend,” she suggested, her eyes searching his for a reaction.
“Are you absolutely sure?” he asked, his tone serious yet encouraging.
“I am,” Talya affirmed, her confidence growing. “My grandparents are here now, along with Sage. That’s all I need. Is it alright for them to come to the ceremony? To know about us?”
Liam nodded, a smile breaking across his face. “I already spoke to Garrett about it. They’re family now, and they’ll be living with us on pack lands.” He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. “I would be thrilled to mate with you this weekend, but only if you’re certain. I’ve waited my entire life for you; I can hold on a little longer if need be.”
“No more waiting. Let’s do it Saturday night,” Talya declared, determination lighting up her features.
“Good,” Liam exhaled, relief washing over him. “I was hoping you’d say that. I can’t bear the thought of waiting any longer.” He leaned down, capturing her lips in a kiss that left her breathless. When he finally pulled back, he added, “Now go take a quick shower; we’re going to be late.”
Twenty minutes later, she emerged, feeling refreshed and ready. “Feel better?” he asked, his eyes sparkling with affection.
“Much,” Talya replied, a smile spreading across her face. They exchanged warm goodbyes with her grandparents and Sage, and Liam gently ushered her out the door.
