I Ran From My Psycho Step-brother Straight Into The Alpha's Lap novel Chapter 190

**When Night Grows Softer Hope Returns To Lead Us by Asa Rowan Finn**
**Chapter 190**

As the first light of dawn filtered through the curtains, Talya was suddenly yanked from her dreams, her heart pounding as the door to her room burst open with a resounding crash against the wall. “Out of bed, girl!” Emma’s voice thundered, brimming with urgency and excitement. Talya blinked rapidly, struggling to shake off the remnants of sleep and steady her racing heart.

“What is going on, Emma?” Talya exclaimed, still disoriented from the abrupt awakening, her mind a jumble of confusion.

Emma’s eyes sparkled with a mix of thrill and impatience. “You have a mating ceremony in just three days, Talya! Three days! Do you even realize how much we need to accomplish before then?” she insisted, her tone leaving no room for resistance.

Talya rubbed her eyes vigorously, trying to process the whirlwind of information. Her gaze wandered to Madison and Sage, who entered the room with a much calmer demeanor than Emma’s. “She does have a point, you know,” Madison chimed in, her voice tinged with a hint of exasperation. “Even if it is the crack of dawn!” she added, shooting a glare at Emma as if to say, “Could you tone it down a notch?”

Turning to Sage, Talya silently pleaded for her friend to step in, but Sage appeared content to observe, not yet ready to join the fray.

“Drink your coffee!” Emma commanded Madison, her tone brooking no dissent. “Talya, get up and get dressed. I have hot coffee waiting for you, but only when you’re ready to go—no exceptions!”

Just then, Liam sauntered in behind Madison and Emma, a playful grin plastered across his face. The moment Talya caught sight of him, she shot him a glare that could have melted steel. He feigned seriousness but couldn’t suppress a chuckle. “You okay, baby?” he asked, amusement dancing in his eyes.

Talya’s glare intensified as she took in his perfectly groomed appearance, hair neatly styled and clothes impeccably arranged. “You can take your grin and leave,” she snapped, tossing off her covers and trudging toward the bathroom, muttering under her breath about the horrors of early mornings and the loud, obnoxious people who inhabited them.

A hand shot out, preventing her from closing the bathroom door entirely. Liam pushed his way in, closing the door behind him with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “What?” Talya demanded, her annoyance palpable.

He revealed a coffee cup he had cleverly concealed behind his back. “I stole this when Emma wasn’t looking,” he said, presenting it to her like a trophy.

Talya snatched the cup from his hand, taking a long, grateful sip. The warmth spread through her, and she closed her eyes momentarily, savoring the jolt of caffeine that coursed through her veins. When she opened her eyes again, she found Liam watching her with an intensity that made her heart flutter. “Have coffee available first thing every morning,” he muttered to himself, but Talya caught the grin he was trying to hide.

“You can leave now,” she said, her voice laced with irritation, though she felt a flicker of warmth at his presence.

Instead of retreating, he stepped closer. “You’re adorable,” he teased, reaching for her hand. Talya instinctively raised her hand to swat at him, but he caught her wrist and pressed a gentle kiss to her palm. “You’d better get in the shower before Emma changes her mind and insists you go without one,” he urged, a playful smirk on his lips.

Emma’s voice rang out from the other side of the door. “Liam, I know you’re in there, and I know you stole my coffee!”

“Busted,” Talya called out, taking another swig of her precious drink, a smile creeping onto her lips despite the chaos.

Liam leaned in and kissed her unexpectedly, catching her off guard. “All right. I’m out of here for now. In three days, you won’t be able to kick me out,” he said with a wicked grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Talya threw a towel at him, laughing despite herself. “Get out of here!” He exited the bathroom, still chuckling, leaving her to quickly shower and prepare for the day ahead.

As she stood in front of the full-length mirror, Talya couldn’t shake the feeling that today would be extraordinary. She had seriously underestimated the magnitude of preparations required for the upcoming ceremony. It dawned on her that the wolves’ mating ceremony was strikingly similar to a wedding—no wonder Emma had been in a frenzy!

Yet, Emma, Madison, and Sage had been nothing short of miraculous, helping her pull everything together in record time. To Talya’s surprise, Sage had even begun to come out of her shell, her smiles becoming more frequent as the days progressed.

Now, three days later, Talya stood before the mirror, taking in the reflection of the woman she had become. She hardly recognized the girl she had been a year ago; her life had transformed in ways she could never have imagined. She turned slightly, admiring the entire ensemble. Madison had dedicated hours to her hair and makeup, and Talya had to concede—every moment spent was worth it. Her makeup was impeccable, and the intricate updo adorned with braids was nothing short of breathtaking.

Her gaze fell to her dress.

It was nothing short of exquisite. Although it wasn’t a traditional wedding gown, it was strikingly close. The blush-colored fabric, layered with tulle and embellished with shimmering sequins, caught the light beautifully. The v-neck and delicate straps accentuated her figure, while the dress cascaded to the floor in graceful layers of tulle.
