Chapter 195
Lucian’s point of View
Seren slept soundly after receiving the sedative, nestled in Lucian’s arms. He dimmed the lights, adjusting her position before closing his eyes and drifting off himself.
The morning arrived.
Lucian’s internal clock had him awake on time.
Seren was still asleep, the effects of the sedative lingering.
Our five years together had been fraught with conflict. She’d once drugged me, forcing a break with Ayla.
I despised her methods, but I couldn’t deny the raw attraction I felt that night.
Every time she called, wanting me to return to Mooncrest Manor, knowing she was deliberately staying, I couldn’t resist. I despised her actions, yet my body craved her.
My wolf, despite its initial reservations, yearned for her touch.
Now, she was different, subdued, almost docile.
He held her close, unwilling to let go.
Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the room. Lucian’s gaze fell on Seren’s lips, their color restored.
His thumb brushed against them, a gentle caress.
Her lips parted slightly, her breath ghosting across his skin, sending a shiver down his spine.
My wolf felt a pang of something akin to possessiveness.
His throat tightened. He moved his finger to her chin, tilting her head slightly, preparing for a kiss. Initially, he intended to keep it gentle, not to wake her.
Seren’s eyes snapped open. Confusion flickered across her features, swiftly replaced by icy anger. She remembered nothing of the night before, only the knowledge that Lucian had taken advantage of her unconscious state.
My wolf snarled, its fury ignited by Lucian’s audacity.
