Chapter 197
Chern Nama Bay them-
A private kindergarten in Chicago.
Hidden from the security cameras, Ayla watched three children who had previously bullied Willow. She’d subtly encouraged them, fueling their arrogance.
They approached Willow with a smug confidence.
Willow walked to her classroom, her head bowed, her muud somber.
As she passed a flower bed, someone shoved her from behind. She fell, scraping her palm. Pain stung her eyes, but tears didn’t come immediately. She knew her mother disliked it when she cried.
Willow knew that when her father was around, she could cry.
He would comfort her, and Ayla would soften. But when he wasn’t around, crying only earned her Ayla’s disdain.
Willow avoided crying, biting her lip to hold back tears. She’d secretly wipe away the tears so Ayla wouldn’t see.
Before she could get up, another child pushed her, this time into her face. Her anger finally broke free.
“What are you doing?” she cried, her eyes burning.
“Willow, you little liar! You don’t have a father! You’re a bastard!” The word “bastard” was thrown like a weapon.
“I do have a father! I’m not a bastard!” Willow snapped back, rising to her feet.
“You’re lying! Where’s your father? Our dads came to the sports day, but yours didn’t!”
The children began to chant, repeating the hurtful words. Some didn’t even understand the meaning of “bastard,” but joined in the taunting.
Willow’s anger exploded. She lunged at the boy.
“You’re wrong! My father loves my mother and me!”
She was no match for the boy. He grabbed her hair, pulling her to the ground. The other two children held her down.
“You’re a bastard!” they shouted, repeating the accusations. Ayla’s plot was unfolding perfectly. They questioned Willow’s parentage, her family
structure.
Willow was stunned. Her parents didn’t sleep together, except for that one night when Ayla had forced her father to stay. She’d cried, begging him to remain, but he’d left after she fell asleep. Ayla had been furious that night, calling Willow useless.
The children’s questions confirmed their suspicions. A child chimed in,, echoing Ayla’s words.
“Your mother’s a mistress! A bad woman! And you’re a bad girl too!”
Willow’s anger surged. She couldn’t let them insult her mother. She kicked and struggled, but her efforts were futile.
The children, emboldened by their success, started to kick and punch her. One kick landed in Willow’s stomach, doubling her over in pain. Sweat beaded on her forehead.
The attack continued, unnoticed until the teacher arrived.
“Stop!” she shouted, her voice sharp and commanding.
The children stopped immediately.
Willow lay on the ground, unable to move, her face bruised and swollen.
