Chapter 205
“Lucian, let go of Seren'”
The car’s sound insulation was excellent, but the voice from outside was still clear. A glimmer of hope ignited in my lifeless eyes.
It was Ragnar. I didn’t know why he appeared when I needed help most, only that he was my savior in that moment My wolf whimpered with
relief.
Lucian heard it too.
I saw the change in his demeanor at Ragnar’s arrival.
The light outside stung Lucian’s eyes; his wolf sensed a threat. He didn’t release me; instead, he became more ruthless. I resisted fiercely, calling out to Ragnar.
“Ragnar, save me!”
Even though I knew the car’s soundproofing was good, Ragnar might not hear me.
But in that moment, he was my lifeline. My wolf strained against Lucian’s hold,
This infuriated Lucian. Ragnar’s arrival only escalated his aggression.
“He can’t save you! Seren, you’re mine!”
I was his, and only his. He wouldn’t allow me with another man. He wouldn’t allow me to stop loving him.
He lowered his head and kissed me fiercely, silencing my attempts to call out Ragnar’s name. My wolf fought against his, but his strength overpowered mine.
Outside, Ragnar’s face was cold, dark anger in his eyes. Half an hour ago, he’d received an anonymous call saying Lucian was downstairs at my
apartment.
Worried I was being bullied, he’d driven over immediately.
He’d seen Lucian’s car from a distance, its slight swaying a clear indication of what was happening inside. Remembering the phone call, he’d rushed towards the car.
The car seemed modified. The sound insulation was excellent, but some sounds were still audible up close. The sounds were faint, but it was quiet outside, and I recognized my voice and my struggle.
Without hesitation, Ragnar smashed the window.
His wolf was fueled by rage.
The sounds inside didn’t stop.
Ragnar’s face was grim.
He retrieved a fire extinguisher from his car and smashed it against the window.
He’d received extensive self-defense training, as had Lucian.
The glass shattered.

The side he smashed was where I was lying.
Lucian’s face went pale.
He scooped me into his arms, grabbing his jacket to wrap around me, his wolf frantic with fear. The shattered glass fell onto his partially naked back, piercing his flesh.
Blood welled up.
Ragnar quickly unlocked the car door and pulled it open.
Lucian ignored the events behind him, his focus on me.

He’d protected me, but he wasn’t sure if I was hurt.
