Chapter 207
Claim 10 Cuine By Chers +
The bag connected squarely with Lucian’s chin, leaving a bloody mark. I glared at him, hatred burning in my eyes.
“Get out of here!”
The struggle in the car had drained me. My body trembled, weak and near collapse.
“Seren.””Seren.”
Two men, one from the front and one from the back of the car, moved towards me simultaneously. Lucian, closer, reached for me.
I stepped back, avoiding his grasp, and found myself in Ragnar’s arms instead.
My wolf sighed with relief, sinking into the safety of his embrace.
“Ragnar, take me home.”
I was physically and mentally exhausted.
I leaned against his chest, speaking softly. My wolf relaxed, finally safe.
“Can I go by myself?”
Ragnar asked gently, his gaze tender.
“Um.” I responded quietly.
Ragnar put his arm around me and turned to leave.
“I’ll take you home.”
Lucian’s voice was cold, his hand reaching for me.
The sight of me in another man’s arms clearly bothered him. His wolf snarled, possessive and wounded.
“Don’t touch me.”
I pushed away his hand, my face cold.
“Seren, you let Ragnar take you home? What time is it? He’s a man.”
“Did you think he was you?”
My words left Lucian speechless.
He’d never needed to force me before.
For five years, our primary form of communication had been in bed. He knew my body better than I did. He’d easily seduced me. But tonight…
He thought about my reactions in the car. He’d used everything he could, yet I still rejected him. He felt anxious, a desperate need to prove something.
He’d thought proving my body was more honest than my words would show I still loved him. But my body had mirrored my words.
Did that mean I truly no longer loved him?
Ragnar took me home.
He helped me to the sofa.
He returned to the kitchen, poured water, added honey, and handed it to me.
“Have some water.”
The water was perfectly warm.
I took a few sips.
