Chapter 247

Lucian didn’t completely despise me. So Ayla couldn’t openly deal with me now.

So the only way Ayla could vent her anger was to insult Aurora.

“If you want to blame someone, blame yourself and your mother.” Ayla hissed in front of Aurora’s grave. “Perhaps, you should pray that you won’t be Seren’s daughter, oh wait, you don’t have a next life!” Ayla’s laughter was chilling

She laughed, about to pour the silver water in front of Aurora’s grave

“Ayla, stop!”

I ran down, my eyes wide, and tackled her. She hadn’t expected me, her surprise allowing me to knock her down. The jar of silver water swayed, spilling onto her.

“Ah!” She screamed, disgustedly tossing the jar away. My wolf snarled, Serves her right.*

She grabbed tissues to wipe the water, but the revulsion lingered.

Before she could recover, I kicked her hard in the back, then her knee. She crumpled, kneeling before Aurora’s grave. My wolf enjoyed this.

Ayla’s expression shifted; she’d been planning for this.

“Seren, you bitch!” With Lucian absent, only the silent dead were witnesses. Ayla saw my murderous intent; she knew I’d heard her threats. She stood, ready to fight. But I was stronger than she expected.

Before she could react, I grabbed her hair, my movements lightning-fast. Over ten slaps landed on her face. My eyes burned with hatred; this woman was truly vile.

My wolf roared in triumphant fury; this was justice for Aurora. It wasn’t enough that she’d killed Aurora; she’d tried to stop her from having a new life in her next life.

All my pent-up rage, my helplessness, unleashed itself.
