Chapter 77
Guilt and self-blame overwhelmed me.
Tears blurred my vision.
The steps I took became heavier and heavier, and the things in front also became increasingly blurry. My body went limp and I fell in the rain
Across the street, a newly arrived black Maybach was just seen, abruptly braking on the roadside.
The car door was pushed open, and Ragnar, without caring about holding an umbrella, crossed the road and walked quickly towards me
The driver quickly opened an umbrella and caught up.
Ragnar quickly ran to my side and declined the driver’s offer to carry me. He bent down and lifted me up from the ground, walking towards his
own car.
The Pack’s infirmary.
I slowly opened my eyes and met a pair of concerned deep eyes. It was Ragnar.
He didn’t say anything, but his eyes expressed everything.
I looked at Ragnar and gently curled my lips, hoarsely thanking him sincerely, “Mr. Blackthorne, thank you.”
Ragnar looked at me, his tone gentle, “You don’t have to be so polite with me.”
I remained silent. I sat up from the sickbed and reached for the phone placed on the bedside.
Sebastian was suspected of extortion, and after the cops made a decision, they returned the money.
I returned the money back to Ragnar and then lifted the blanket and got up, bowing towards him.
“Mr. Blackthorn, thank you so much for your help and kindness.”
Ragnar looked at me in front of him, and his raised hand fell back to his side.
His voice returned to its usual coldness, and he softly responded, “My pleasure.”
Then, he turned around and left.
I slowly got up only after the Pack’s infirmary room door closed.
Watching Ragnar leave, I knew I could never repay him.
