I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 46

Before she even found her footing.

The car sped off.

Finn's stony expression didn't waver for the entire drive.

Forty minutes later, he pulled into the Global Air employee parking lot.

He killed the engine, unbuckled his seatbelt, and stepped out.

Inside the shift manager's office, Manager Zhou was staring in sheer exasperation at his computer monitor.

When Finn walked in, Zhou grabbed a piece of paper off his desk and shoved it in Finn's face, tapping the text so hard he nearly punched a hole through the sheet.

"Finn, what the hell is this physical report?" Zhou's voice pitched up half an octave. "Who was the doctor you requested? Do they have a personal vendetta against you? Premature ventricular contractions? They're actively trying to ruin your life!"

Finn took a seat, remaining completely silent.

"Because of this little note, you're grounded for two weeks."

Zhou leaned back in his chair, staring at Finn with utter bewilderment.

He insisted on choosing his own doctor, and he ended up picking someone who wanted to make him suffer.

What kind of logic was that?

A bitter taste flooded Finn's mouth.

He didn't have a choice; he was the one who had wronged her.

He pressed a finger against the puncture wound on his arm. The bruised skin still throbbed, the purplish ring expanding outward like a decaying blossom.

He let out a helpless, self-deprecating laugh.

Sienna Sterling, the famously compassionate doctor.

Apparently, out of every patient in the world, he was the sole exception to her mercy.

She truly showed him no mercy at all.

"Fine, I'm grounded then." He stood up. "I could use the time off anyway."

Zhou stared at him, looking like he wanted to argue, but ultimately waved a dismissive hand.

"Alright, whatever. The long weekend is coming up anyway. Go take a trip and clear your head."

Early the next morning, Sienna arrived at the wardrobe department.

Landon was already waiting for her, holding a gorgeous ivory empire-waist gown with silver floral embroidery that practically glowed under the studio lights.

"Sienna, try this one."

She took the heavy fabric from him and ducked into the dressing room.

A girl with thick glasses circled Sienna three times, muttering under her breath.

"This is insane. The tailoring is flawless on you. Look at that waistline! Look at the shoulders! And your collarbone! That tiny mole is placed so perfectly, peeking out right over the neckline."

Another crew member dropped into a crouch with a professional camera, snapping dozens of photos from every conceivable angle.

She reviewed the digital screen and let out a heavy sigh.

"We don't even need to retouch these. This is going straight onto the main poster."

Sienna stood in the center of the room, completely surrounded by awestruck people showering her with praise.

She wasn't used to the attention, but she didn't shrink away from it.

Because she never had to fight or compete for the spotlight.

She just stood there, and the light naturally gravitated to her.

Before she knew it, the holiday weekend arrived.

Even though Finn was grounded, he still made a habit of dropping by the crew lounge every day.

Outside the window, a line of commercial jets sat parked on the tarmac.

Inside the lounge, a group of flight attendants clustered together on their break, huddled over a phone and giggling like schoolgirls.

"Oh my god, look at this! The Loveliest Muse! She is absolutely breathtaking!"
