I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 70

She stopped right in front of Finn, bowing her head in shame.

"I'm so sorry, Finn. It's my fault. I sent the message."

Finn's eyes narrowed into slits, darting sharply between his cowering fiancée and his eerily calm mother.

A dark, sinister laugh tore from his chest.

"You two are absolutely sickening. Covering for each other like criminals."

"Finn Fletcher! I am your mother!" Yolanda finally lost her composure, slamming her hand against the armrest. "I gave you life, and this is how you speak to me?"

Her chest heaved with manufactured outrage.

Finn didn't flinch. He didn't even blink.

His fists clenched so tightly his knuckles popped.

Thick veins bulged across the back of his hands, snaking aggressively up his forearms under the tension.

"I warned you. I told you never to touch her."

His predatory gaze locked onto Yolanda, then snapped to Chloe, stripping them bare of their arrogant pride.

"You can manipulate me, scheme behind my back, and drag my name through the mud—I'll take it. But the second you aim for her, I swear I will burn this entire family to the ground."

A spike of genuine terror pierced Yolanda's chest, but she forcefully buried it under her flawless facade.

Chloe, however, completely shattered.

Tears cascaded uncontrollably down her pale cheeks.

She hadn't even orchestrated this nightmare. She was terrified, utterly humiliated, yet her suffering meant absolutely nothing in this war.

For the very first time, she truly comprehended the terrifying magnitude of Finn's devotion to Sienna.

The realization clawed relentlessly at her chest, bleeding her heart dry.

Yolanda leaned back into the velvet cushions, deliberately shifting into a relaxed, powerful posture.

"Finn, you're behaving like a feral animal for a woman you know nothing about. Do you even realize what kind of creature Sienna Sterling truly is?"

"I know exactly who she is. I don't need your twisted commentary."

Yolanda shook her head, adopting a sickeningly pitying smile.

"You're delusional. You asked me earlier what really happened four years ago. Well, today is your lucky day. I'm going to tell you."

"Get to the point," Finn ground out, biting his cheek until he tasted copper.

"I put her to the test. I offered her two paths. Option one: She marries you. However, she signs an ironclad prenuptial agreement legally barring her from the Fletcher estate. No inheritance, no power, absolutely zero cash. Option two: She walks away from you permanently. In exchange, I pull the strings to secure her an elite overseas residency at a world-class hospital."

She paused, elegantly lifting a fresh cup of tea to her lips. Finding it lukewarm, she gave a delicate sigh of distaste.

"She asked for the details of the medical program. Then, she chose option two. She willingly threw you away to climb the corporate ladder."

The opulent living room plunged into a suffocating, terrifying silence.

Finn stood entirely paralyzed, like a statue carved from ice.

His hands trembled violently, and an invisible weight seemed to drag him straight into hell.

"That's impossible," he choked out, his voice low but desperate to believe the denial.

"If you don't believe me, look into it yourself."

Yolanda placed her teacup perfectly back onto its saucer and leaned back, locking eyes with him. Her gaze held the terrifying, absolute confidence of a victor.

"Find out exactly who secured that overseas spot for her. A nobody with a mediocre degree and zero connections beating out hundreds of elite candidates? You think she earned that on her own merit? Finn, you are incredibly naive."
