I Walked Away Seven Years Too Late But Right on Time novel Chapter 164

The last time, he hadn't found the opportunity to give it to her. This time, it might be his final chance.

"Sophie, have you ever thought about leaving this place?"

Sophie looked at him, thoroughly confused.

"What I mean is, if... if he struggles to choose between his family and you, come with me. Let's leave. Haven't you always wanted to go to Europe? We can build a life there."

Sophie stared at him in disbelief. A fleeting smile touched her lips before vanishing instantly. She asked coldly, "So if he abandons me, I'm supposed to come crawling back to you?"

"Sophie, saying that demeans you, and it demeans me. I've been waiting for you, and you know it."

While Sophie was still reeling, Luke took her hand. With his other hand, he pulled out the ring. "Sophie, can you give me one more chance?"

A sudden, violent pounding on the glass window startled them both. They turned to see Eileen slamming her phone against the glass, her mouth moving furiously as she shouted something—or more accurately, cursed at them.

Her face was completely contorted, her limbs flailing wildly, while Harold struggled to drag her toward the curb.

Before Luke could even react, Sophie yanked her hand out of his grasp.

Luke's hand, still pinching the ring, hovered awkwardly in mid-air. He had been rejected, yet again.

Even if Eileen hadn't shown up, Sophie would never have accepted the ring.

"I'm leaving." Sophie stood up. She wanted absolutely zero contact with that psycho.

Luke immediately followed suit, tailing her out the door.

"Don't think just because you have the test results you get to be part of my family! Don't you ever dream of it!" Eileen screamed at Sophie the second she stepped outside.
